UN recants claim that IDF shot at convoy
The UN on Wednesday afternoon retracted its earlier claim that IDF forces opened fire on a UN convoy delivering humanitarian aid.

A gunfight between Israeli troops and Palestinian gunmen briefly disrupted the delivery to the town of Beit Hanun in the Gaza Strip.

The 25-minute gunfight broke out as the convoy, which included 12 trucks carrying flour, rice, milk, canned goods and medical supplies, entered the town of Beit Hanun, witnesses said.

The people in the convoy - including Peter Hansen, the head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency - were forced to take cover in a nearby building, the witnesses said.

1. An Interesting Report, Doctor
It illustrates a couple of things well. First, that people in the vicinity of gun-fire have an understandable tendency to conclude it is aimed particularly at them. Second, that it is always wise to keep an open mind concerning the initial reports that emerge from a chaotic situation: history demonstrates that these are often inexact, and frequently so without any malicious purpose, but as a result of understandable confusions.

5. And thirdly....
newspapers (and others) will shamelessly let their own biases
and hatred of israel permeate their articles in order to smear
israel without seeking the truth....or worse, ignoring the truth.

Think this will be on page 1 in reuters ??

14. "aimed particularly at them"
And a wise assumption that is, pending further information.
The contrast of this with the French "attack" could be very
educational, but I don't suppose it will be.

6. Yep,just like no one here ran with the French attack on the subway
that was bs.

Funny that some people ignore one side leaping to conclusions but are quick to point out the mistake in others.

As always Don,your "outrage" is very selective.
