Alarm at US drift over Middle East
The United States is losing interest in the Middle East peace process with the result that the prospects of creating a viable Palestinian state are gradually disappearing, a new British government assessment of the Palestinian crisis warns.

The analysis, written by the Department for International Development (DfID) in consultation with the Foreign Office, reveals the alarm within Whitehall at the disengagement of the Bush administration from events in Israel and the occupied territories.

It warns: "The role of the USA, the country with the most leverage over Israel, is key. Frustration with aspects of the Palestinian leadership, preoccupations in Iraq, presidential elections and security concerns for US citizens may risk USA disengagement at the highest levels from the peace process when it is most likely to start collapsing."

Let’s be clear, “BUSH incompetence drift”.

Since 1949 the US has given Israel a total of $84,854,827,200. The interest costs born by US taxpayers on behalf of Israel are $49,937,000,000 – making the total amount of aid given to Israel since 1949 $134,791,507,200 (more than $134 billion).

In my city the roads are torn up, 10 public schools have closed this year, local taxes have gone up to cover the lack of Federal money, schools are desperate for supplies, the libraries are under-staffed; old books; machinery broken, no jobs or $5 jobs at McDonalds, houseing prices to buy or rent are too high for even my upper middle class friends’ children… I ask them what their children will do in the future and they have no idea how they will make ends meet except for all to continue to live in the house.

2. Financial Aid
Loan guarantees are not financial aid, and don't cost the US taxpayers a Penny.

Repaid loans ahead of schedule are the norm, and those loans have been refinances at a lower interest rate with private bankers.

Got it? Adding up more than 50 years of aid will easily equal the amount you need to fund your school library. No doubt.

However, schools in the US are funded locally, and federal money is not the major factor there. State and local taxes and funding is necessary.

The Islamic site is not the place to look for the true data on US aid to Israel.
