First Qassam hits Sderot since raid; blast near troops in Gaza

A Qassam rocket was fired at the Negev town of Sderot on Thursday afternoon, for the first time since the end of a recent massive Israel Defense Forces offensive aimed at halting rocket fire on Israeli targets.
The rocket fell in an open area, and there were no injuries.

Earlier Thursday, an explosive device detonated near IDF troops patrolling along the Philadelphi Route on the Gaza-Egypt border, Army Radio reported.

It was unclear whether there were any injuries in the blast.
