Sami Michael: Hamas fighters are not terrorists
By Akiva Eldar

<snip>

"Imagine the feeling if I woke up tomorrow and saw this neighborhood, which we inhabit, forcibly conquered by the Syrians, and they established settlements here, and in order to go to the bus station, I needed permission from the Syrian army. How would I feel?" the author from Haifa asked. "If I fight them, I will be considered a terrorist. Why am I a terrorist? Why do we call Hezbollah or Hamasniks terrorists? Why? Because he fights on his own territory? Suddenly, aliens, occupiers, land on him and tell him: Your house is ours. It's his land, he and his forefathers were born here, and the settlers say: We will never leave ... How would you respond to this?"

<snip>

Michael stresses that he completely rejects attacks on civilians inside Israel, and that he tells his Palestinian acquaintances that such terror also harms their interests. However, the definition of the struggle against the occupation in the territories is, he says, "brainwashing of people who don't understand that the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are occupied territory."

1. Of course they are. A terrorist is anyone who opposes or resists US policy

US policy includes a long list of crimes against humanity and atrocities, so "terrorist" today just means "someone who is against torture," or any and all of the various atrocities that let the world know how US taxpayers want their money spent.

7. "We are all terrorists"......the word means nothing,now....
it has been worn out by over-use.
The US & Israel use force and co-ercion
as a political policy,as do Hamas.

My favourite alternative is guerilla.
