Israel to call up extra troops
Tel Aviv - The Israeli army will need to call up most of its reserve battalions next year - about 10 000 soldiers, due to the extra manpower needed for implementing the Gaza withdrawal plan, the Israeli Ha'aretz daily reported on Friday.

The reserve soldiers will not participate in the withdrawal itself but will be needed to replace the regular troops throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip who will be used for the disengagement.
