Gaza terror groups thought to have anti-aircraft missiles
Iraq, the gift that keeps on giving.

Palestinian terror organizations in the Gaza Strip my have anti-aircraft missiles in their possession, possibly Strela (SA-7) missiles, the security establishment warned yesterday.
For some years the Palestinians have tried to smuggle such missiles from Egypt through tunnels. However, until now no reliable intelligence confirmed the existence of the missiles.

---

The air force increased the presence of helicopters during Operation Days of Penitence and was responsible for hitting half of the military cells targeted. Both sides are aware that if the disengagement plan is implemented, and IDF land forces pull out, airborne forces will play a much larger role than before. "The Palestinians are clearly interested in challenging our total superiority in the air," the senior official said.

Palestinians have a role model in the guerrillas who are fighting the U.S. in Iraq. During the past 18 months dozens of U.S. helicopters with hundreds of crew members have been downed, by anti-aircraft missiles and heavy mortar.

2. from stone ages to ??? how far will this go?
The Palestinians started throwing rocks -- and the Israelis answered with bullets. And then the suicide bombers started their dirty business -- and then collective punishment followed.

Each macho side feels a need to respond with bigger weapons and make bigger booms and kill more people.

Will the bunker buster bombs be used in Gaza or the West Bank -- once the settlers are removed??

When will the violence stop -- my guess -- the violence will stop ONLY when a third more powerful leader comes along.

But the bottom line is that each side is fighting for limited resources -- land and water -- WATER being the most important necessity for life.

If bush wins -- I do believe that the End of Timers will keep stirring up the hatred -- because of the fundamentalists believe that the beginning of the end will start in the Holy Lands.

malicious propaganda, said an un-named senior military source.
Although a 30-year old missile may help to even up the odds...
Looking closely at BBC tv news reports ,it's usually RPG-7 rocket launchers and other ancient soviet equipment, that are the weapons of choice,in Iraq, that is.

4. Hard to say out here in TV land.
The "heavy mortar" sounds funny.
Elsewhere recently I saw reference to use of ATW against an Israeli
tank. It is certain that keeping the Palestinians disarmed is a major
goal of the IDF and Israeli intelligence services, which is why it's
interesting when they report their own failure in that regard. But
I can't assign it any meaning, it's just an info bit.

5. Bullshit.
This 'article' is tripe. No facts, 100% virulent speculation.
