CP of Israel, No To Sharon's Evacuation/ Annexation Plan

==================================================

COMMUNIST PARTY OF ISRAEL (CPI)

No to Sharon's Evacuation/Annexation Plan

At the CPI's political bureau's meeting October 15, 2004,
MP Isam Mahoul (CPI General Secretary) emphasized that the
party has demanded and continues to demand the dismantling
of all the settlements established since June 1967,
including those in the Gaza Strip.

Further, MP Mahoul states:
The Sharon disengagement plan isn't a program for
evacuating settlements in the framework of a peace
settlement. The opposite is true. This
"evacuation/annexation" plan will exacerbate the situation
and lead to further bloodshed. Since its (the Sharon plan)
publication, the CPI has warned that it is an inseparable
part of the aggressive American strategy for inciting
conflicts and wars in the middle east. The Sharon plan is
intended to block every attempt to renew the dialogue with
the Palestinian leadership and to avoid a just and stable
peace.

Mahoul added that the words of Dov Weisglass, Sharon's
policy advisor ("Haaretz" October 8, 2004) confirm the
CPI's statement that the purpose of the "disengagement"
plan is to perpetuate the occupation with all its
suffering, and to prevent the establishment of a
Palestinian State along side Israel with the June 1967
lines as a border.

I would be a member of the Communist Party of Israel!

BTW, my hero Leon Trostky's real name was Lev Bronstein. Yep, he was one of us!
