Everywhere you look you see a new Mazda? It's not your imagination. Since the beginning of the year, Delek Motors, importer of Mazda and Ford, has sold 22,241 cars made by the Japanese automaker. Of these, 15,516 were the Mazda 3 model.




It is difficult to detract from the importance of that number. Statistically, it means that during showroom operating hours, once every nine minutes, a Mazda 3 is sold. Once every 6.5 minutes, some Mazda model is sold.

This also means that one in every 82 families has bought a Mazda 3 this year. In total, one in every 57 families has bought a new Mazda in the first 11 months of the year.

These numbers are similar to the figures posted by Israel's all-time best-selling car in its late-'80s heyday: the Subaru Leone. The overall number of cars sold in Israel today is much greater than the late `80s and early `90s, but competition is also as fierce as it has ever been - severely limiting growth potential for sales star Mazda 3.
