WASHINGTON - Anti-Semitism in western Europe today is a combination of classic hatred of Jews and an anti-Israel approach, according to the first State Department report on the phenomenon, and anti-Semitic acts in western Europe have increased in both severity and frequency since the start of the millennium.




The report adopts the position that demonization of Israelis or comparison of Israeli leaders to Nazis is not legitimate criticism but rather anti-Semitism. It lays the blame for anti-Semitism in western Europe both on the growing number of poor and uneducated Muslims and on the neo-Nazis. In eastern Europe, ultra right-wing elements and skinheads are blamed for most attacks on Jews and their property.

Several European countries, notably France, Belgium and Germany, are taking severe steps against the perpetrators, the report found, but others do not treat the problem seriously. It does not cite specific acts, but says that there were physical acts of violence against Jews in 12 European countries in the past year; acts of vandalism against cemeteries and synagogues in 30 countries; and verbal violence in 28.

Animals are not humans. Humans do crazy things, especially when crazy things are done to them.

Why do some people on both sides kill innocent civilians? Please be aware that barbaric forms of violence are not limited to Palestinian activities.

Sorry, I must correct myself. From a scientific perspective, all humans are actually animals. It is important, however, to recognize that all humans are animals of equal status. If one says that some humans are animals, then one must recognize that all other humans are animals too. No group of humans is superior to any other group of humans.

24. Why don't people understand there's two sets of standards here??

The only time people can be encouraged to demonise another group of people is when something horrific is done that has ONLY happened to the group favoured for special treatment. If the group to be demonised isn't murdered in that specific way, then they have NO right to be angry and use similar language to that approved of when used by the favoured group. Yeah, makes sense to me in exactly the same way that repeated claims that Jordan is Palestine made sense :shrug:
