Hamas: PA may falsify election results
Hamas: PA may falsify election results
By KHALED ABU TOAMEH

Hamas, which has called on its supporters to boycott Sunday's election for the chairmanship of the Palestinian Authority, lashed out at Fatah candidate Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) on Saturday, accusing him of being a pawn in the hands of Israel and the US.

The movement also vowed to continue attacks on Israel after the vote and warned Abbas against trying to confiscate its weapons.

"The election for the presidency of the Palestinian Authority has been tailored to suit Mahmoud Abbas," said senior Hamas leader Mohammed Nazzal. "They won't allow anyone else but him to win the election. There is a Zionist, regional and international desire to see him as the next chairman of the Palestinian Authority

4. Here's a more balanced one
Edited on Sun Jan-09-05 11:37 AM by King Mongo
Well, this one is more balanced:

"But we can't prevent all the Palestinian people from voting."

Hamas boycotts presidential elections

"the Palestinian people are free to head for the ballot's stations tomorrow and vote."

Hamas insists it won't interfere with balloting.

"We never asked the Palestinian people to boycott the elections, only our own members," said Hamas spokesman Sami abu Zuhri. "We are not trying to tell the people what to do."

6. Is UPI balanced?
Why do you believe that the United Press International is not balanced? That's probably where jpost got their information from.
