Palestinians killed in new Israeli raids
Two Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank hours after Israeli troops, tanks and helicopters raided a Gaza district in the first reported deaths since Mahmud Abbas was elected president.

Both Palestinians were shot dead in an exchange with Israeli occupation troops near Ram Allah in the occupied West Bank.

1. 1000+ posts (profile hidden) and you still have yet to read the LBN rules?

7. Discussion of Israeli/Palestinian issues is not permitted in the Latest Breaking News forum, and instead must be posted in the Israeli/Palestinian Affairs forum. If, however, the news item is primarily about U.S. policy in Israeli/Palestinian affairs, you may post it in the Latest Breaking News forum.

3. Thank You For
The reminder.

It was my opinion that it affects many policies as there has been an election and all governments have been asking for cooperation.

However, should I have stepped out of line and posted in the wrong place then by all means the post should be removed from LBN.

Again, thanks for the reminder.

4. Yes. They wouldn't want to see peace breaking out.
That would interfere with their geo-political ambitions.

6. In my opinion, the Israeli "hawks" wish to continue the military
conflict with the Palestinians in order to achieve certain goals such as the continuation of financial aid from the U.S. and other reasons.

7. BBC (January 12): Miltants attack Gaza settlement
From the BBC Online
Dated Wednesday January 12

Militants attack Gaza settlement

An Israeli civilian has been killed and three soldiers wounded in a militant attack on an Israeli settlement in the southern Gaza Strip.
Two Palestinian militants from the group Islamic Jihad, who carried out the attack on Morag, were also killed.

Earlier, in the West Bank, Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinians near Ramallah, in one of their first raids since Sunday's Palestinian elections.

The army also says it has arrested four militants in Gaza City.

Islamic Jihad says its militants were on a suicide mission when they set off an explosion near the entrance to Morag.

After the new optimism over the Palestinian elections and the congratulatory messages sent to Mr. Abbas, we seem to have returned last week's news all over again.

9. No reason to point fingers at all
Unless you're willing to point them in both directions.
