Sharon orders all contact severed with PA government

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has ordered all contact cut with newly elected Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas until Abbas reins in terrorists, a Sharon spokesman said Friday.

The report comes following a deadly attack Thursday night, in which six Israelis were killed. Five other civilians were wounded in the combined bombing and shooting attack. Among the casualties were security guards, terminal workers and drivers.

"Israel informed international leaders today that there will be no meetings with Abbas until he makes a real effort to stop the terror," said Sharon spokesman Assaf Shariv.

Shariv said that Israel informed officials from the US, EU, Britain and the Palestinians.

What if you actually tried meeting with Abbas showing the militants that their actions won't undermine the two factions who are striving for peace.

Unless of course, you don't consider yourself one of those factions, in which case, please continue waiting for hell to freeze over or the militants to succomb to agression, which ever comes first.

Abbas made al sorts of approving noises to the "militants", I don't think this sort of cautious approach is unwarrented.

so i`m not really surprised. sharon never was going to "meet" with the "leader" of the palestine. it was a sick joke played upon those who may have thought that sharon was honest.

8. Sharon needs war to keep his fat ass out of jail

If peace actually breaks out, the Isreali people will no longer be afraid and will dump Sharon and the indictments can be unsealed.

Making an impossible demand has been the hallmark of the likudniks, and other extremists bent on conflict, since the dawn of time.
