Demand to Probe Cancellation of Sharon Debt
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=85607

"(IsraelNN.com) A Knesset committee has asked the government ombudsman to investigate charges that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon struck a deal with Bank Leumi in which the bank cancelled a 350,000 shekel ($77,000) debt. Sharon allegedly agreed to reject the proposal of the Finance Ministry that government-held shares of the bank would be distributed free to the public.

Negotiations between the bank and the prime Minister were conducted by Sharon aide Dov Weisglass and Sharon's son Omri."
