Militants Threaten to Renew Israel Attacks

Militants said Thursday they will renew attacks on Israel, despite a six-month cease-fire, after Israeli soldiers killed five Palestinians, at least three of them armed, in a West Bank arrest raid.

The killings and the threat of revenge ended a lull that accompanied Israel's just-completed withdrawal from 25 Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the Quartet of Mideast mediators — the United States, the European Union, the United Nations and Russia — will meet Sept. 20 in New York to discuss establishing Palestinian control over the evacuated settlements.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas urged militants to hold their fire and respect the cease-fire, but also accused Israel of intentional provocation. Troops were targeting fugitives from the Islamic Jihad group, which carried out two suicide bombings in Israel in recent months.

The IDF and the Jihadist suicide bombers is that the IDF is a bonified military unit and has possession of tanks, rockets, guns and bombs to defend Israel. They only use it when attacked first.

The Islamic jihad has suicide bombers with explosives in their backpacks or tied around their waists and their sole purpose is to instill fear and kill as many women, children and non-combatants as they possibly can when said women, children and non-combatants are merely sitting in a theatre, or eating dinner at a restaurant.

And you think that's okay? If Israel really just wanted to destroy Palestinian homes, kill women and children---don't you think by now they would have completed their mission? After all with all that firepower I don't think there would be too many left standing.

People who believe as you do will not be satisfied with the Palestinians having their own land, living side-by-side with Israel in peace.

You want Israel to cease to exist.

The only difference is that it's called STATE terrorism, they kill more innocent (Palestinian) civilians http://www.btselem.org/English/Statistics/Casualties.asp and to the mothers and families of those killed it doesn't matter how they were killed and if they were targetted or not, nor does it to me, since if they wouldn't be aiming, shooting and bombing and being there in the first place that wouldn't happen.

That's total BS. Just because i support the Palestinian right to exist, to have a state, independence and land and their plight (civilians) it doesn't mean I want Israel to cease to exist, dissapear or be destroyed (which never would happen anyway with all the military power and billions of aid). Israel already does exist, with plenty of land and everthingy (resources even Palestinians cannot access, although they did before). Nothing will change that.

Following your way of thinking: "You want Palestine & Palestinians to cease to exist". That's as much a generalizing statement and close to the truth as yours is regarding me. Spare me this kind of BS. Or I won't spare you the same.... (it's as idiotic as those "self hating Jews" accusations against anyone not following Likud like Uri Avnery, Amira Hass or Noam Chomsky for that matter, just to mention some prominent Israelis/Jews that don't agree with you. Do they also want Israel cease to exist, for not agreeing with the warmongering and occupation? Puh-lease....
