New look for 9/11 Timeline

Hi,
We've been working some time on getting the 9/11 Timeline converted into a database. Now we've done it. It allows for a lot of increased search functions and other improvements.

In fact, the whole Center for Cooperative Research has moved into database format, with a new look and feel. You can see that here:

However, these changes are brand new, and not really "ready for prime time." There are a lot of bugs and things to fix or add that will hopefully get fixed in the next couple of days. Buried in the timeline is a new update, though we don't have a "latest update" page to show it just yet.

If anyone here is interested to give feedback and spot broken links and the like, I'd appreciate it. The site is very open to suggestions.

Once we've got the kinks worked out we'll spread the word a little wider about the new changes and updates.

My one year anniversary as a mihopper is near, i cant remember the exact date as it was a strange and somewhat frightening transition. If you haven't read the complete timeline, you should, and if you don't come away with serious doubts about the offical story you should stand in traffic and end it now. 5. I'm looking forward to updates

Paul, your effort is partly behind the reason there even is a 9/11 commission. I know the families that pushed for one because of what they said about reading and connecting the dots. It's truly the best source out there. Thanks so much.

By the way, this link drove me nuts, because all the sites showed MSNBC as a dead link, and this is the only one I could find on line to the Newsweek story that mentioned "top pentagon officials changing their flight plans on September 10th." I don't know if your link is fixed now.

Next on the list of things to do is fix all the broken links. In the future you'll be able to go to two copies of each article - one the external link, and the other the internally stored one.

6. Some small problems

First congratulations and thanks!

One general problem: younger people have normally better eyes than elder ones. And so maybe you do not even think about the problems which one can have reading small coloured letters on a yellowisg background. It looks beautifull, but it is ten times hareder to read for me than simple black on white. i know that you believe the colours have a meaning too (they add blue with blue makes the history of one plane and so on). But I have a different appoach and I have never needed these colors. I agree that other people may think otherwise.

Just to pick into the middle of the timeline seems not to be possible, i.e. to pick into side 54 of the 100 pages. Except when I search for a data. It would be fine to install a tablord with the 100 hyperlinked pages.

And one concerning a fact. If we take Rumsfeld at 9:38: "Rumsfeld's office is on the fourth floor of the Pentagon, relatively near the impact." As I alreeady pointed out this is false: directly opposite the impact. Not near, not at all. And the pic showing Rumsfeld on the centre lawn is somehow damaged.

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding colors, I've got a lot of positive comments about that and you're the first negative. So colors are staying.

The second point is a good one. I'll pass that on.

Regarding Rumsfeld, I'll try to fix that. You mentioned you say footage of him outside. It would be very important to find that. Can anyone find any picture of him helping any wounded? That's very key.

7. Paul: What about the Atta timeline mentioned in 911pi?

More than six months ago, when 911pi.com still existed, there was a woman who posted on the 911pi.com website and said she were preparing an Atta timeline. I forgot her name, I think she was in contact with Hopsicker also. Did you use her timeline?

Especially the German stories of Atta should have gone into this timeline, as far as I remember. In a brief search of your timeline, Paul, I did not find, e.g., the quite long interview with Dietmar Machule, the Hamburg Professor of Atta (Transcript). Or the fact that he was a scholar of the Carl Duisberg Society.

The picture of Atta in Hamburg seems very difficult to reconcile with the picture of the Florida Atta (cf Hopsicker, Welcome to Terrorland).

I just tried out the new search functions on cooperativeresearch. Very impressive improvement!

10. Atta timeline

Actually, back then there were three of us starting to work on that. But then pi911 died and other things happened and that's fallen by the wayside.

I still have a plan to do an Atta timeline. In fact, I want to do a timeline on each of the hijackers (or pairs when they're closely tied to each other). I've got a lot of material in rough form for the Atta timeline, but don't have any time to work on it. Other things take higher priority. If you or anyone else want to take that on, it would be greatly appreciated and you'd be a coauthor of that. Someone else has already taken on doing a Wail and Waleed Alshehri timeline.

11. needing help

I just posted this on a different thread, but it seems fitting to put it here too.

I've been getting a lot of praise at DU lately and it's very gratifying. But even better than praise is help. I could use a lot of help.
1) Some proofreading would be great. The whole thing is riddled with typos.
2) Media outreach. I think the timeline is starting to break through to the mainstream. For instance, Craig Unger in his best selling House of Bush, House of Saud, gives it a very nice plug. So does Eric Alterman in his new book. More journalists need to be aware it exists and hopefully start using it as a resource.
3) I could even use help in summarizing articles into timeline entries.
4) Translations. Especially German. I just found some Russian articles needing translating too.
5) Anyone have a subscription to the Wall Street Journal online? There's a bunch of articles there I'm trying to find. Or access to Lexis Nexus you can share?

The timeline is really a collective effort. For instance, probably half the articles in there are from links I've seen on DU. Together we can take it to the next level.
