17. more than the 'nets
I believe the story was first reported on Fox News, of all places. Tom Fenton has a little about it in a book I recently read. I can't remember the title, but it's about how bad the news media are these days.

2. care to elaborate?
I know what you're talking about, but some people are probably scratching their heads. And why now? Just asking.

5. Is it not a fair thing to ask?
When a story up and disappears, doesn't the public deserve to know why? I don't care if it was 5 years ago. It is still important.

6. I wasn't criticizing you really
I just thought that if you're going to bring a subject up, perhaps three words was a little stingy in the department of explication.

8. Good point.
There isn't any new information about the subject, not that I'm aware of anyway. I just don't want the public to forget these highly fishy incidents.

3. I think that is one of the touchy subjects that you have to be careful

about because for one thing it will set off that megaphone thing from GIYUS and they will send people to call you an anti-Semite, but also because if you get into something that sounds like you are asking questions about 911 or the war on terror they can say you are threatening the state. Also there were stories about it on either Fox or MSNBC that got taken down because somebody thought it might cause problems because Mosaad is like Israel's CIA and they work together with us in a lot of secret military operations in the war on terror. So those are some of the reasons it is a touchy subject and makes people mad, so maybe it is one of those things that you can read articles about and if some of them like make you go hmm, you don't have to tell anybody.

7. I don't think it makes me an anti-Semite at all...
I am, in fact, not an anti-Semite. I'm also not threatening the state..

9. I also think this is an important issue that should not be brushed...
under the rug, but I have the feeling that the art students were not mainstream Israeli agents. More like part of a joint, radical right-wing (or mafia crime family) effort, if you catch my drift.

13. It is one of those things that is not about what is true or not

It is hard to explain, like OK you are not really an anti-Semite but if you get people to saying that you are the fact that you aren't is not what is going to give you problems. And in a way it is threatening the state because if a lot of people started to ask too many questions about 911 who knows what they might do to the state? Well, really, I guess the scary part is I think that a lot of people do think the questions but they haven't done anything. So then you have to figure out what is scarier, that your own government would do it or that people would not do anything about it. So it is another one of those things where what is true or not is not what gives you the problems.

11. I have no idea what you are talking about, but I know how scary it
can be to opine anything on the general subject.

The only way around it is to keep talking, no matter what is said to try to shut down the subject.

If the Mossad can ever really be caught spying on us, then I say do the same thing to them that would happen to a like KGB agent. Worse, because at least the Soviets were not claiming to be our allies.

15. See the ongoing AIPAC Investigation
Judge orders investigation of leak in AIPAC case

08/23/2006

By MATTHEW BARAKAT / Associated Press

A federal judge has ordered the Justice Department to investigate how media organizations learned about a criminal probe involving the activities of two pro-Israel lobbyists who now face trial for illegally disclosing national defense information.

U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III ordered the investigation following complaints by defense lawyers that the government failed to follow proper procedures in obtaining and executing a secret warrant for surveillance of lobbyists Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman.

The lobbyists worked for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee until they were fired last year in connection with the investigation.

Media advocacy groups have long been concerned about the government's prosecution of Rosen and Weissman because the statute used to prosecute them — a World War I-era espionage law — easily could be used to prosecute journalists who break news about classified government programs.

Ellis' decision to order an investigation into how CBS News and other media companies learned of the AIPAC probe in late August of 2004 crystallized that concern.

16. Keep in mind that there are pro-Isreal interpretations of those stories
The basic story is that the Mossad was keeping tabs on the hijackers. This does not mean that the Israelis were complicit. In fact, there are some news stories that Israeli intelligence was one of the foreign intelligence agencies -- along with Russian, German, French, and Egyptian -- that tried to warn the Bush administration. One interpretation is that the Israelis had the best information, but the administration was simply deaf, perhaps on purpose.

The art students thing may be a separate story and is just too weird for words.

20. Wouldn't be the first instance of different factions within an agency
Perhaps the best comparison is that of the corrupt police dept; there are always a few who are not corrupt and who try to stop the corruption.
The weirder it is, the more reason to pay attention to it.

Edited on Wed Aug-30-06 03:27 AM by mirandapriestly
it was about the weird wiretapping and drug dealing! so what happened to this, I have never hear of it before, did you see how the officials tried to cover it up? Mossad and Israel keep popping up in relation to 911 I know that.

22. Amdocs is an Israeli owned data organization that
has records of all phone calls made in the United States, they said. Well that's great... Investigators said they were watching the Israeli Criminal Organization and were listening in on them, but as soon as they would start listening to someone they would change the way they spoke, IOW they knew they were being listened too. I guess Amdocs told them?
The drug ring operated in Egypt, Israel, New York, Florida, Nevada, and I think California, sounds like the places the "hijackers" were.
