Did Pakistan or Saudi Arabia have prior knowledge of the 9/11 attacks?

Five years after 9/11, it's the question that brings the most frightening perspective to U.S. foreign policies today: Did the governments of Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, now strong U.S. allies, have advance knowledge of the 9-11 attacks?

"There's a strong likelihood that individuals within Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were well aware of the plot being carried out by Mohammed Atta and company,” said NBC terrorism analyst Steve Emerson. “It doesn't necessary mean the regimes were aware, but certainly there was knowledge about a Fatwa, or religious decree, mandating that Muslims crash planes into buildings."

Before 9/11, the Pakistani government was one of only three in the world to recognize and have diplomatic relations with Afghanistan's al-Qaida-dominated Taliban regime, and Pakistani intelligence officials had deep contacts.

"Their service, called the ISI, had a very strong relationship with the Taliban,” NBC's Roger Cressey said. “They clearly had links inside Al-Qaeda. So the question is did the ISI have prior knowledge of this plot? And if they did, did they inform Islamabad and President Musharraf?”

3. The leadership in many countries knew, at least in a general

way, that the US was going to be attacked. There was warning after warning, even from Putin in Russia, from Pakistan, Italy, several near east countries, and I'm thinking the Emirates. When this stuff started showing up, not long ago (for me, at least,) I was shocked. I had watched every 9-11 commission hearing, some several times, that were available anywhere on satellite and was not at that time aware of anything more than the infamous PDB.

Apparently there was so much hair on fire, ringing alarms, warnings, phone calls, email and ambassadorial type messages, official communications, private warnings, on and nauseatingly on that only a blind fool could have continued to ignore what everybody else in the world knew was coming.

The delicious prospect of invading and taking over Iraq was so distracting that the Criminal Cabal simply could not see past it to anything else.
I think this was on Huffpost yesterday. What an indictment!

Word begins to spread within al-Qaeda that an attack against the US is imminent, according to later prison interrogations of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. Many within al-Qaeda are aware that Mohammed has been preparing operatives to go to the US. Additionally, bin Laden makes several remarks hinting at an upcoming attack, spawning rumors throughout Muslim extremist circles worldwide. US soldiers will later find forged visas, altered passports, listings of Florida flight schools and registration papers for a flight simulator in al-Qaeda houses in Afghanistan. A bin Laden bodyguard later will claim that in May 2001 he hears bin Laden tell people in Afghanistan that the US would be hit with an attack, and thousands would die.

If it's true that Mossad had something to do with 9/11, what was it besides taking pictures and being smug and framing the Palestinians for things? Was it that they had fore-knowledge and didn't share it with us? Or DID they share the information, but it was kept quiet by BushCo?

August 8-15, 2001: Israel Reportedly Warns of Major Assault on the US
At some point between these dates, Israel warns the US that an al-Qaeda attack is imminent. Reportedly, two high-ranking agents from the Mossad come to Washington and warn the FBI and CIA that from 50 to 200 terrorists have slipped into the US and are planning “a major assault on the United States.” They say indications point to a “large scale target,” and that Americans would be “very vulnerable.” They add there could be Iraqi connections to the al-Qaeda attack. The Los Angeles Times later retracts its story after a CIA spokesperson says, “There was no such warning. Allegations that there was are complete and utter nonsense.” Other newspapers do not retract it.

Given that Osama himself said in the summer he'd just sent 20 guys to the US to do a major attack, it would not actually be that difficult to figure this out.
