The bill would also provide clear rules for our personnel involved in detaining and questioning captured terrorists. The information that the Central Intelligence Agency has obtained by questioning men like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has provided valuable information and has helped disrupt terrorist plots, including strikes within the United States.

NOW READ WHAT HE SAYS HERE!!!!

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed described the design of planned attacks of buildings inside the U.S. and how operatives were directed to carry them out. That is valuable information for those of us who have the responsibility to protect the American people. He told us the operatives had been instructed to ensure that the explosives went off at a high -- a point that was high enough to prevent people trapped above from escaping.

>>>It sounds like he is trying to cover himself to me.

1. Vedy Intresting
I found it difficult to believe what I read, but damn, I thought his statement was damning......yet wait, why didn't anyone at the press conference follow through with a bloody relevant question. Unless I read the text too quickly and missed something, no one made any further comment on what I would consider a bombshell. As for mainstream media, nothing relating to "explosives" in Junior's press release was reported.

Oh well, yawn, yawn, yawn..................wtf cares any way?

2. What surprised me about that statement,
is that is suggests bush-brat did know something about it after all.

I would have expected a blabber-mouthed idiot like him to be left completely out of the loop.

4. Not at all.
Is Bush admitting explosives were in the Trade Centers here?

Bush would have had to actually say the words "World Trade Center" or something like "as happened on 9/11" for an admission to have taken place. And he did not say those words.

Now that bombs in shoes and hijacking planes are probably not viable methods of terror, anyone planning future terror would have to come up with another method -- thus staying one step ahead of the game, as it were. Blowing up building might be one of those methods.

Imaging that someone said something that simply was not said is not in line with the factual research and arguments we should be pursuing.

5. I think this post went right over your head.
Bush is laying down the groundwork for denial when the press starts to admit the Trade Centers were brought down by explosives.

6. It did not.

The question was: "Is Bush admitting explosives were in the Trade Centers here?"

My answer is: Bush is not admitting explosives were in the Trade Centers.

...

If you wanted to discuss whether there was something else afoot in his comments, then you should have pursued that line of thought.

From the context of Bush's comments, it is obvious that he is talking about future attacks -- or attacks that have been allegedly disrupted.

The information that the Central Intelligence Agency has obtained by questioning men like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has provided valuable information and has helped disrupt terrorist plots, including strikes within the United States.

For example, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed described the design of planned attacks of buildings inside the U.S. and how operatives were directed to carry them out. That is valuable information for those of us who have the responsibility to protect the American people. He told us the operatives had been instructed to ensure that the explosives went off at a high -- a point that was high enough to prevent people trapped above from escaping.

He mentions disrupted plots and then uses KSM and the explosives as an example of what those future plans might have been.

Obviously, the WTC attacks were not disrupted.

The fact that anyone thinks he is "admitting explosives were in the Trade Centers" is laughable.

And sad -- as this type of "analysis" has already led some people (as I have seen on other message boards) to claim that Bush actually confessed to blowing up the towers.

7. How can anyone possibly suspect government malfeasance?!! Tut tut
I was particularly interested in the tense he used as in "WERE directed to carry out" and "operatives HAD BEEN instructed". If I wanted to cover my ass and leave no doubt I would have used the word, "are instructed" which suggests that these instructions are ongoing. The way Bush phrased it strongly suggests to me that all this was in the past.

In any event, I think the media types at the press conference were obligated to ask a follow up question to ensure that they understood him correctly. The news release was prepared for the idjut so he was following script. However, Answers are extemporaneous and therefore for my money, can be quite revealing. Someone should have stepped up to bat. Their non-followup was revealing in and of itself. One question comes to mind is whether or not through torture they've been able to find out what types of plans Terrerists have to get their explosives placed strategically.

That any of us here should suspect the Bush administration of blowing up the WTC bldgs is a real stretch, isn't it? Mind you, if you don't I suspect that your brains are disengaged. malfeasance

8. Boosh was trying to inoculate himself against the UNlikely possibility

that the 9/11 Truth Suppressors here and elsewhere will all revolt and decide they won't cover for him any longer.
