Gore Vidal On my local NPR
So Gore Vidal was on my local NR show in an interview where he was in New York, but the interviewer was in Seattle and the teaser said that he would comment on 9-11 and it sounded like he thought it was an inside job. So, I listened. First, Vidal said something I liked which is sort of true, that America has two right wings one is the Republicans and one is the Democrats and when one of them screws up, they put the other one in. So I was thinking it would be pretty good interview when Vidal said how ridiculous it was for Bush to say we're going to "fight them there so we don't have to fight them here" and the dumb bunny local host (Steve Share; closet Republican) said "so you don't think that terrorists attacked us by flying planes into buildings on 9-11?" and Vidal was good and said "I hate to shock the city of Seattle, but Iraq didn't attack us on 9-11" . So far, so good... Then the conversation turned to 9-11 and Share asked him if he thought bin laden was innocent and Vidal said "oh yes, I think he did it, he said he did" (argh) and he went on to say he didn't "share company" with "those kind of people" (people who think it was an inside job) or something like that, I had to turn it off at that point. Isn't obl's only "confession" on one of those tapes? and does anybody who has looked closely believe those tapes are real, or has anyone proved they are real?
You can see with your own eyes the tapes with bin laden are fake. . You can see with your own eyes that it isn't bin laden on NPR's own site! There he is big gold ring, wide nose and all!:
http://www.npr.org/news/specials/response/investigation/011213.binladen.tape.html

and the most recent release was lifted from a documentary made long before the event was supposed to have occurred and it's altered.
Today I heard on the news that Al Qaeda's "Iraqi leader" (yeah, right) announced that Americans made a "wise choice" or something like that by choosing the democrats (LOL) from their "web site". (Web sites that are related to American companies, btw.) Now, I wonder who was behind that? I just can't believe that the media doesn't question these tapes more than they do, and to hear Gore Vidal didn't even question it was...depressing.

1. Vidal's second volume of his memoirs is due out this month. He knows

that most NPR listeners are too "respectable" to consider anything so provocative as the truth about 9/11 and he knows that sales of his new book would suffer if he is perceived as "one of us".

5. What evidence is there for the existence of an organized group that some
people call "al Qaeda"? Is it sort of like the VFW here, only for mujahadeen fighters that participated in the U.S. sponsored "opposition" to the Soviets in Arfarf can he stand?

Do they have their own HQ building (cave?), web site, PR/disinfo agents and everything? Oh, and how many #2 leaders (I'm not referring to toilet trainers) ARE there in the "al Qaeda" comp ny org chart?

probably why I couldn't find it there, but I had already Googled "patsies" and found that very same address and it even had a satellite phone number for them, but it has been disconnected for some reason.

8. Noze, we're joking about this
which, in a closely parallel universe, could see us under investigation..... But don't you think that Al Qaeda has become a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy?

We recently had a doco screened about thousands of young, talibanesque types from all over the world, packing their swags and heading off to Iraq and the ME to join battle for the 'cause'. Not that I believe for one moment that many of them have sat down and closely considered what the cause might be, or have even questioned who Al Qaeda is.

So what happens is these angry boys BECOME Al Qaeda. Bit sad really.

9. Scary. That's why I'm with the "Lareds". I don't believe in CT's. boosh rules!

I thought al Qaeda was a phonetic spelling of the baseball player's name. That's all I had in mind. Nothing else. As far as any "taliban", I thought that was a reference to an old Harry Belafonte song about banana boat workers. "Come Mr. Taliban, tali me bananas" or something like that...and everything.

12. Oh, it's a fabrication. I think there are quite a few
"random berserkers" and perhaps they are related to the remnants of "the database" in Afghanistan, I also think that British and US forces are responsible for a lot of the "insurgent" and other violence in Iraq. Saddam was saying that at his trial, but the judge kept silencing him (that's not why I think it, I just thought it was interesting) but there is no formal group known as "Al Qaeda" and I start laughing hysterically every time I hear the morons on the radio or tv speculating as to how "Al Qaeda" might react to this or that. How stupid are people????Even Toni Blair said there was no such thing as "Al Qaeda". Especially an "Al Qaeda" with an "iraqi division". LOL

15. Even Toni Blair said there was no such thing as "Al Qaeda".
"The death of al-Zarqawi is a strike against Al Qaida in Iraq, and therefore a strike against Al Qaida everywhere."

"For three years, Al Qaida have sought to murder innocent people, promote sectarian killing and wreck the democratic process in Iraq. But this terrorism is a global movement. Their attack in Iraq has only ever been part of a wider attack that they've carried into conflicts and countries the world over. Indeed, there's barely a major nation in the world that has not felt the outreach of their evil."

Tony Blair, June 8, 2006. Perhaps you were refering to a different Toni Blair?

17. You mean it's kinda, sorta like an idea or fuzzy thought, or a secret club?

Do they have a secret handshake and everything? Does their initiation rite include the use of narcotics...specifically, cocaine? Perhaps that would explain why the "boys" became such cokeheads down there in Floor ih duh? Noze-cone candy made them sincerely suicidal? Yeah, that's it. After all, suicide IS the most SINCERE form of self-criticism there is.

23. Actually
There is quite a bit of doubt surrounding these claims...

http://www.911myths.com/html/strip_clubs.html

True or not. It is hardly unthinkable that the type of Muslim that undertakes marderdom, which effectively wipes any past sin completely, may undertake forbiden practices.

but the key word in that statement is unthinkable.

3. Maybe Vidal was being coy--he's pretty hip to the various slants given

to issues at different stations. In his short paperback "Dreaming War - Blood for Oil and the Cheney-Bush Junta," he has an essay on 9/11 called "Goat Song-Unanswered Questions" where he indicates he thinks the Bush regime is responsible, at least for a massive stand-down order. He's a bit coy in that essay, too, writing "It is interesting how often in our history, when diaster strikes, incompetence is considered a better alibi than...well, yes, there are worse things." (elipses his).

You mean like Alex Jones? So how come GV was on his show just a week or two ago sounding every bit like a LIHOPer? Now that I think about it, I guess nothing he said in the NPR interview really contradicts that.

I sort of think Vidal was being a sly dog. Apparently he's been accused of being a "conspiracy theorist" himself and said he rather considered himself a "conspiracy analyst"! Not a bad retort.

20. I don't know what to think of him
So his grandfather was a senator and he isn't related to Al Gore (according to new documents)

I watched some of his movies like Caligula for example.
I don't know if he cares about accuracy, but there some mistakes in the movie

He knows that the US is a police state and there is only one party, that is encouraging.

He wants that that the connections between Osama etc to be investigated, He says everybody is telling lies.
I think that is a valid point.

One assumption he has is that, his father wrote the law that NORAD can intercept hijacked air planes automatically. And he says he can't understand why they weren't intercepted (President busy, Cheney in bunker)

Well, we know that in June the rules for hijacking were changed and DoD must get approval from the Secretary of Defense.
http://thewebfairy.com/killtown/oddities/2001.html#June1,2001-DoD_hijacking_rules

And we have Minneta's testimony and Flight 77 and Cheney's reaction
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z2c8IKemYI

He said in the interview that that the founding fathers disliked tyranny and they disliked democracy. Interesting!

He says he is buying the incompetence theory....

He is buying incompetence for Katrina.... someone should play him the clip
http://thinkprogress.org/2005/09/04/worst-abandonments/
were they are talking about cutting communications line (done by FEMA)

Here his interview
http://www.kuow.org/mp3high/m3u/WeekdayB/WeekdayB20061109.m3u

in the interview with Alex Jones he stated the same

GV: Well, there was a big story in the India Times, which is a very good newspaper, and it was about 9/11. And, we had just found out that Mohammad Atta, who was a Saudi Arabian guy, seemed to be working for Osama bin Laden, as far as anybody knows. That's probably true. That he was in charge of the planes that crashed into the New York buildings. Well, the story is really more complicated.

What struck me was immediately-- my father was Director of Air Commerce under Franklin Roosevelt. My father, who has been one of the original Army-Air Force flyers in World War I. He had put in a lot of sort of safety things. In the event of a hijacking of a passenger liner or any plane that they knew about, that fighter planes would be scrambled-- that is, sent up into the air immediately within minutes in order to force the plane down, to change course or shoot it down if you had to. And you don't need orders from the President, the Vice President or anybody else. That's the law.

Well, they didn't go up after 9/11. Everybody knew what happened. And the planes still were still on their way to Washington to hit the Pentagon, and suddenly from Otis Air Base comes one fighter plane. Otis Air Base is in Massachusetts-- it might just as well have been in Canada. That was the only fighter plane, which, according to law, they all should have been up there. And not one went up. Well, that could have only happen if somebody told them to stand down-- not to respond to what was after all their sworn duty.

That's, the Times of India broke the story and then that well-known radical rag, The Wall Street Journal, also wrote about it. I thought by then places like New York Times would have waked up, but the New York Times is incapable of waking up to anything important.

I think he knows what he is talking about
http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/20061113_growing_up_with_gore_vidal/
When I asked my grandparents about the newspapers, they replied in unison, “If you read it in the papers, it isn’t true.” But then populists have never had a good press in Freedom’s Land. I was also warned never to answer the questions of strangers, and, of course, I always did.

70 years ago he was asking his grandparents about truth in newspapers and today he is asking why the New York Times isn't printing the truth? C'mon

And not always telling what you think when strangers ask you is his philosophy, it seems. Or am I misreading his statements?

21. I thought with the strangers he meant he was warned not
to answer their questions and now he grants interviews, ie: answers questions, so he didn't listen.
As far as NORAD goes, any way you slice it when you look at the time lapsed between initial knowledge of hijacking and Pentagon event it is ludicrous to believe that miscommunication or error or anything other than intent lead to a failure to scramble. It is the one thing that makes me realize that those who say they believe the "official account" (and who are well informed of this and other 9-11 issues)are lying.

Caligula, lol, you mean that movie from 20 years ago that was produced by Hustler or Penthouse or something? He probably wasn't too involved in their fact checking,lol...I doubt they were true to the book.

22. You can still answer, but say not incriminating things
His ridiculing of the Bush quote "We have to fight them there , so we don't have to fight them here"

Is like saying to someone FOX news isn't telling the truth al the time, you know.

I think someone should have told him by now that the procedure his father developed has been changed, this can't be ignorance.
If his father was involved during the World War 2 in the Gov, maybe he knew about Pearl Harbour and that it was LIHOP.
He has to munch knowledge to be so ignorant

Caligula was Penthouse with a cost of nearly 20.000.000$,
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080491/

I think if you have more than one director it only messes up a movie. According to imdb they changed the point of view and Vidal sued them.
Maybe it was something nobody could achieve.

Nevertheless it fits somehow into the Foley, Hastert, Porter Gosss etc thing

Oh no,I think Vidal is going at it again? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0796207/ with a trailer for a remake
