The disturbing way evidence from the WTC was handled

Iron workers cut crosses, Stars of David and police shields out of the large pieces of steel left the in the wreckage of the World Trade Center, to keep or give away as mementos. Signs of their work are evident in pieces of steel kept in Hangar 17 at Kennedy International Airport.










I don't know about anyone else but I find this sort of thing sickening.

1. That depends

If they were inscribed with names and presented to the victim's families at funerals...it might mean a lot to them?

2. I don't mind

making something for the victims families out of some of the steel that was no longer needed for the investigation. If that's the case, was one made for every family?

Second, I find cutting the steel into religious symbols inappropriate to say the least. They could have easily cut something that resembled the towers instead.

That's a big chunk of the radio tower.

It seems only things that were inside the building before the collapse got pulverized.
