Anybody know anything about 'Cover Up' by Peter Lance? |
|
A friend gave me a book for my birthday about the 9-11 Commission and the ensuing cover-up. I was just wondering if anyone has read it or knows anything about it.
Thanks in advance.

1. I saw him talk about it on C-Span--it looked like a fantastic read! |
|
the interview might still be archived at C-Span--I think it was on Washington Journal a few weeks ago.

I read it. I give it a qualified thumbs up.
Part I: TWA 800 It raises some interesting questions about Flight TWA 800 -- and provides some great evidence about FBI misconduct in the ensuing investigation. Thunbs up is "qualified" - because it doesn't, imho, close the loop. It DOES raise questions, but doesn't provide enough evidence to support its conclusion (re: TWA800). It DOES, however provide (again, imho) MORE than enough evidence to support the claim that the FBI engaged in .. very bad acts!
Part II: Critique of the 9/11 Commission Report Thumbs up. Again, it points out several of the inconsistencies and/or omissions in the Final Report. It's a very good summary. I wish he'd had more time to flesh out the points. Apparently he was working on an incredibly tight deadline. Still -- he does a more than credible job of outlining the problems with the Final Report.
Overall -- worth reading, but I look forward to the paperback version where, hopefully, he'll include updated/more information.
