While you were in here bickering about who knocked down the buildings
Edited on Sat Feb-07-09 06:14 PM by whatchamacallit
the Bush administration and it's partners attacked, and likely destroyed, America. Arguing that our government would never be complicit in 911, is kind of silly considering what we *know* they did to us, dwarfs 911 a thousand times over. While they were presumably protecting you from scary men in caves, they were actually busy murdering your futures with their economic policies. But hey, hang onto your cherished beliefs about white hats and black hats, you're going to need them to buoy your spirits when you're dumpster diving to feed your kids.

1. While I generally agree with your sentiment...
some of us have been working to improve the prospects for the future of the United States. Others, it seems, have difficulty understanding how such changes come about.

It's my job. Nor do I think I'm saving the world, but I sure am making a hell of a lot more difference than somebody who just spends his day posting on the internet.

I occasionally get lucky and get sent to the field for a week where I don't have access to the internet. It's kind of a "blanket" ignore list - does wonders for my perspective.

14. The reason posts get deleted here are because they have uncivils attacks of another DU member or
they link to hate sites. Those are the only reasons I've seen. If you think differently, I wonder why you keep posting here.

relates to whether the financial concerns we face was "made to happen on purpose" or if it is the consequence of bad judgment and decisions by Bush, Congress, and our financial institutions.

19. shock doctrine
i don't agree with everything she says but she talks about the issues competently and correlates the bailout, its timing, and the involved players in such a way that it's almost impossible to understand it without seeing it in a political context. when viewed in this way, it's difficult to deny that there isn't criminal intent here.

21. it's a sad day when this has to be explained to the so-called "debunker" crowd at DU
do you want me to burp you, as well?

why don't you start here:
http://sjlendman.blogspot.com/2006/06/dirty-secrets-of-temple.html">DIRTY SECRETS OF THE TEMPLE
(a review of http://books.google.com/books?id=JxSU5I58L-wC">Secrets of the Temple, By William Greider)

...and then take a look at the current problem:
http://www.prospect.org/csnc/blogs/beat_the_press_archive?month=02&year=2009&base_name=dealing_with_bankrupt_banks_na">Dealing With BANKRUPT Banks: Nationalization or Welfare
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dean-baker/the-role-of-government-ke_b_159031.html">The Role of Government: Keeping the Wealthy Rich

...and finally these:
http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2009/02/government-of-banks-by-banks-and-for.html">Government of the Banks, By the Banks and For the Banks

please tell me that you're intelligent enough to understand why the USG has no business buying up the banks' bad paper with YOUR MONEY... and COMPLETELY OVERPAYING FOR IT in the process (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aAvhtiFdLyaQ">which they are telling us they *need* to do in order to keep the banks "solvent").

finally, look at the past few years... or even just this past year; the bush administration created the perfect storm for this to happen:
  1. lowered interest rates:
Fed cuts interest rates; Bush optimistic about economic stimulus, January 2008
    http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2008/01/fed-cuts-intere.html
  2. de-regulated wall street:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/03/29/bush-administration-to-un_n_94066.html
  3. printed more money:
Bush Says More Cash Infusions May Be Needed to ‘Safeguard Our Financial System’, November 2008
    http://www.cnsnews.com/Public/Content/Article.aspx?rsrcid=39839
  4. introducing "the ways and means":
the ubiquitous http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2007/sep/30/5">"NINJA" mortgage applications of bush's last term which were underscored by his 2004 campaign's "http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/presidentbush/2008/10/blame-bush.html">ownership society" meme...

26. It's quite the normal day when the CT crowd can't provide
an answer to a simple question.

To be clear, I'm not saying I stimulus package is good. I'm not saying the stimulus package hurts the banks, in fact it props up many rich people. But that has little to do with "did they make this happen on purpose?" And if they did WHY?

So how does anyone benefit by creating the financial mess? Right now you are telling me the stimulus package is bailing out the guilty, Ok, It's quite unclear how bailing them out of the mess is more advantageous to them rather than them not causing the problem in the first place.

It is a simple question. If "they" created the financial situation on purpose, there must be a reason to do so rather than leaving things the way they were. What is it?

Yeah, not much of a secret really, but you'd think so by all the shock.

Besides, all of that is just CT bullshit, right? And it will continue to be so until proved true... right about the time it doesn't matter anymore.

I think the neocons put just enough oddball crap into the mix, on this and other so-called CT issues, just so "they" can call us all nuts for NOT believing the neocon bullshit.
