Syria Next? Discuss
Is Syria next? Is is possible Iraq moved its WMD to Syria? Will Bush invade Syria and suddenly "discover" WMDs and declare another "victory" against "terrorism"? Syria would be an easy "victory" (Iran and N Korea too dangerous). I'm thinking the timing would be next summer--enough in advance of the election to get a boost in the polls.

1. I do believe this. Just watching C-Span and C-Span 2 this morning
points in that direction.

7. The problem with Syria
is that Israel is too close.

If USA, for the sake of argument, invaded Syria, what then do the Israelis do?

Do they just sit there as if it were all somebody eles's affair, as they've got away with so far?

4. Looks More Like Iran
but he'd probably go for both at once.

First they need to MIHOP something bad enough to justify a draft
and the cancellation of the 2004 elections.

Even Rove has been saying that Bush mustn't start any more wars before the elections, so if they do they mean to cancel them.

5. Bush has destroyed the Army.
There can be not ground actions anytime soon. This just so much bluster and jive.

8. Charming...
Another colony for Halliburton to make millions off of for how ever long the American people will put with their kids getting killed over it!

9. I was thinking more along the lines of Iran
You may have more info than I... but a look at the map shows Iran in an unenviable position with a U.S. military presence on both the East and West... (Germany learned a bitter lesson about fighting a two-front war in the '40s, yes?) Iran is where the big oil is, not Syria, I believe... And Russia is effectively denied access to that oil AND southern seaports... if we control Iran as well as Iraq...

It seems to me that after a period of "rebuilding" time in Iraq, the next campaign against Persians might begin... and if that happens, then... Ayatollah you so?
