Kucinich Denounces U.S. Tactics in Afghanistan
Democratic presidential candidate Dennis J. Kucinich said yesterday that U.S. military action against Afghanistan in response to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks was not justified and has proved to be a "disaster" and a "nightmare."

Kucinich, a four-term House member from Cleveland and a former mayor of that city, made the assertion in an interview with editors and reporters of The Washington Post. But two hours later, he called a reporter to clarify his remarks.

He said that he had voted for the congressional resolution authorizing President Bush to take military action in response to the attacks. "On the philosophical question as to whether it was justified, the answer is yes," Kucinich said. "The record on that is clear. . . . I misspoke."

Kucinich said his disagreement with Bush was over "tactics" and he believes that Bush should have involved "the intelligence agencies of other countries" and the United Nations in the hunt for the terrorist suspects. Asked whether he still considered the outcome of U.S. military action in Afghanistan to be a disaster and a nightmare, he said: "I see the Taliban regaining strength and all these conflicts with warlords. The question is: What have we won? Where's the victory?"

2. Dennis seems to me to be the only one who is still
getting the message out on this. The others are all focusing on the quagmire in Iraq. That is certainly important, but it is important to distinguish between the two. Afghanistan is still being fought, as part of the war on terror, while Iraq is being fought for reasons only known to George Bush* and his cronies.:grr:

3. I'm kicking this one more time to get the word out on this
People keep saying that Dennis hasn't a chance. With his intelligent opinions and ideas, he is head and shoulders over Bush*, despite his lack of stature!:grr:

4. I cannot believe that Kucinich's remarks didn't attract greater
attention. Of course, I cannot understand why his positions on the issues haven't attracted greater attention. He seems to be saying all the right things, to me, and to be calling the Bush* administration on their failed policies more than other candidate. I know he has not a great chance, but I still wish that the media would give him more air time. He is the one who is saying what needs to be said.

5. "Great" Expectations
When was the last time anyone can recall any of the major liberal media outlets taking positions that would benefit all Americans? It isn't going to happen.

Just as the GOP has to con a huge percentage of the public into voting against their own interest, Democrats (Greens, Blues & the like) should employ a similar strategy...from the other direction. (just hope & pray they don't disappoint like some recently have)

6. It's interesting to look at the coverage from the major media outlets
from more than one point of view. We see them as not covering major stories that need to be covered and taking the position of the Bush* administration in most things. If you were to check in with Free Republic, they would be calling them "liberal" and saying that they were siding with us. It's all a matter of perspective. LOL!:-)

7. What's with the conflicting avatars, John?
I've been thinking of changing mine to Kucinich for the interim. What do you think? It's just that I have come to identify myself with Mr. Carter, but if you can change, so can I.:-)

8. If anyone could explain to me why Dennis Kucinich is doing so poorly
in the state primaries, I would be grateful. The man has vision and a strong message and his supporters are most loyal. What is going wrong?
