Question abotu 9/11 commision. Not finished yet? Phase 2?
I remember reading something about another phase of the investigation that was supposed to happen. IS this true? And can anyone point me toward info stating as such? I want to organize a petition to get that phase started and to beat our party in to ensuring its gets done and the analysis to be thorough and complete.

Thanks for any contributions. :)

1. Phase II
I don't know anything about a Phase II 9/11 investigation, though I'm
confident that Rep. McKinney's briefing Friday brought up enough to
justify one.

Perhaps you're thinking of the investigation of the Senate Select
Intelligence Committee into the pre-war Iraq intelligence. Phase I was
last year and blamed the poor quality of the info on the CIA. Phase II
was supposed to examine the manner in which the Bush Administration used
the intelligence to justify the war. The chairman, Pat Roberts, has
said it "would be a colossal waste of time to replow this ground," and
Phase II has not been done.

Kerry and 9 other Senators have written to Roberts asking him to reopen
the investigation in light of the Downing Street Memos.

2. Phase II
Or maybe you're thinking about the CIA Inspector General's report about
the pre-9/11 intelligence? The one that named names? The one that has
never been released?

4. McKinney is one of our smartest and most courageous leaders.
We should support her. She will need it. She's on to the bastards.

3. The 9-11 commission as currently structured is a total farce.
Their product was nothing but mendacious white wash.

5. 9/11 Commission Was a Farce
Executive Director Zelikow was completely conflicted--he'd co-authored a
book with Condi about working in the White House and he even appeared as
a witness before the Commission.

Chairman Kean was conflicted by his business ties to Khalid bin Mahfouz,
a suspected terrorist financier who was 20% owner of the BCCI and a
sometime shareholder in W's Arbusto Energy Co.

When the BCCI scandal broke and the bank came down for moneylaundering
and terrorist financing, bin Mahfouz paid $225 million to make a NY
State indictment go away.
