Poll question: Which is more likely?
Possibility 1: Bush and Cheney's involvement with eugenics and pharmaceutical companies will be put to use to create an epidemic for which they will have a cure that they will use to protect themselves. They will place the country under martial law (an event Bush has already foreseen and is asking for emergency powers for) or

Possibility 2: Bush is planning a phony epidemic for which he has already asked for emergency powers. There will be the appearance of an epidemic. He will use these powers to end democracy.

As was reported last week, Bush plans to place us under martial law if the avian flu strikes and this indicates he's planning something. Remember, the flu is supposed to only affect birds.

1. It's gotta be the first
BushCo doesn't need Americans. They've got all those Chinese and Indians as human resouces.

4. It just isn't that easy
to create an epidemic. Do not believe what you see in movies or read in novels.

It's somewhat possible that this administration could do a re-run of the swine flue fiasco in 1976, where stupid people became convinced that a swine flu epidemic was imminent, rushed to put out a vaccine, and hundreds (maybe it was thousands) suffered ill-effects from the totally unnecessary shot.

Since I was an adult then, and I could tell from the get-go that this supposed epidemic existed only in the minds of those who imagined it, I've always been wary of flu shots. http://www.mercola.com/2004/jan/21/flu_vaccine.htm
http://www.newmediaexplorer.org/sepp/2004/02/19/flu_experts_vaccine_effectiveness_not_demonstrated.htm

And of course every single year (quite noticeably here on DU) there's a pervasive hysteria about the desperate need to get the shots and how everyone is going to die if they don't get the shots and there's not enough of them and everyone is going to die. Did I leave anything out?

Not so oddly enough, recent research shows that flu shots are considerably less effective than they're claimed to be.

5. 9/11 was science fiction. It was physically impossible. Ask the
engineer from Underwriter Laboratories. Seven of the 19 hijackers are alive and well and have been photographed alive and well by the press. So how did these guys survive the impact when the WTC didn't? So, was it our imagination or did something stranger than fiction happen on 9/11?

This is significantly more likely than 9/11.

7. No, it wasn't physically impossible.
Those buildings collapsed because jumbo jets filled with jet fuel crashed into them. Their structure made them susceptible to exactly the kind of failure that happened.

And seven of the 19 hijackers are not alive and well because they died on impact.

Are you attempting to suggest we all imagine what happened?

Hijackers had thought of crashing into buildings before, despite what Condolezza Rice would have you believe. Jet fuel burns very hot. Steel gets soft if it gets too hot.

10. Because it's a controlled burn.
Only a tiny, controlled portion of the jet fuel is being burned up during normal engine operation.

Come to think of it, since gasoline burns pretty hot, why don't car engines melt?

11. Thanks for a shot of sanity
Here's a quick story to highlight your point. Last year when the flu shot became scarce, a friend of my wife's family went to the Dr to get a flu shot for her two year old. Well the kid was sick so they told her to come back next week, which she did. By then the DR's office had run out of the flu shot and told her after she got there.

She went ballistic, not because she wasted her time going to the Dr, but because they had no flu shots available and she thought her child was in terrible danger ( :tinfoilhat: time). They nearly had to call the police to remove her. She cried for a week, thinking her child was going to get the flu and die.

The older I get the more I believe the ability to critically think is becoming extinct.
