I just wanted to say that your "somebody lied" picture is so wonderful.

Every time I see it...I'm deeply affected.

The man holding the poster is SO AMERICAN. He personifies Americana. He gets to me.

It's often easy to find 20 somethings who will protest and hold signs. However,
here's a salt-of-the-Earth seasoned man who is willing to stand up and fight for
what is right. You know things are really bad when average (but extraordinary)
Americans like this start carrying signs.

You can't disconnect the back story of why muslims were on the planes with boxcutters from the incident itself.

It's like saying looking at a murder by hitman X and giving me two choices:

a) the victim died from a stab wound by hitman X, OR
b) the victim died from another cause.




Those aren't sufficient options. Particularly if you add in the fact that the victim's body was carted away without a full autopsy.

They confiscated those 5 minutes after the "plane" hit so we have to rely on witnesses. Some FBI guy stood looking at the Pentagon and decided in a split second that the best thing he could do to help America is to sieze the videos of the plane hitting the Pentagon. What a sharp agent. If it were me, 5 minutes after the plane hit, I'd probably still be wondering if there was another plane inbound or if one of the other reported "bombs" might need to be investigated. Not this Johnny G-man. No, he rushed over and confiscated the tapes so he could save Americans more distress. How noble.

911 or more appropriately, 2001-09-01, was not the root of the neo-fascist state, although a major symptom.

I see it like A. Sharon's massive stroke, or anyone's major heart attack. Sharon's stroke was not the root cause of his current state or even his eventual passing. Neither was he consuming an excess of tempeh and collard greens. No my friend, that type of illness is precipitated by well known causes, despite the psychotic ramblings of certain "religious" nutjobs.

However, just as the true nature of the events of 2001-09-01 will not be readily revealed (although I seek not to trivialize), neither would the root cause of a massive stroke be "news".

Some will take the tortured, decaying and debased flesh of a sentient being, pumped full of hormones, drugs and chemicals, and characterize that substance as "food" or "dinner". That same depraved culture of corruption will take the abused, burning, decaying and destroyed towers of the WTC and characterize that event as a full-scale attack organized by religious fanatics dwelling in caves on the other side of the planet, an impetus for war. I buy neither.

The events of 2001-09-01 occurred within the control of a neo-fascist state, one which was (and still is to many) masquerading somewhat successfully as a representative democracy.

Anyway, I somewhat like the September 11 forum because GD moves too fast, and this forum allows for simpler consolidation of threads on this topic. I probably would not have seen your poll in GD, even though you may have felt it would gain more visibility and response there.
