....lets ask all the engineering and scietific types here, what if would take in terms of controlled demolition to TOPPLE one of the towers....one tower toppling would most likely have caused more deaths and infinitely more problems for the City of New York...So why planes when 5-10 floors destoyed on one corner may have multiplied the effect??? Instead of "was it controlled demolition?" lets ask wouldn't terrorist planned controlled demolition been both easier and more devastating....

4. I was addressing the "topple" comment..

the idea that one of the WTC towers could topple like a tree. I just don't buy it.

I was under the impression (perhaps from Peter Lance's book)
that the FBI explosives expert had endorsed the topple theory,
but I could be wrong.

But do you think one truck bomb could bring the tower straight
down? I'm {i]INCLINED to think such localized damage
could only have extremely assymetric effects.

I also find Tom Eagar's assertion that something can be too big
to topple suspect. The Queen Mary could steer, she could be
shoved into a berth by a tug boat. Why wouldn't Eagar's argument
apply to an A-380? What is it about scale that makes asymetric
lateral forces impotent?

Controlled demolition just means Building Security needs to better do the
job they do already.

5. Because if a group of real implosion experts...

were to testify that asymetrical damage (to a corner or just one side, or hell-like a tree low cut toward target and slightly higher cut opposite) could cause toppling then why the straight down collapse-luck or planning??? Again a toppling tower would have killed many more and caused much more damage....and then this-if the highjackers thought the planes would take the towers down,why not a corner strike for a better shot at the asymetrical damage??? Just thinking out loud here...
