New 9/11 Conspiracy Theory (Abramoff and Atta)
From American Chronicle: "Incredibly, one of the suspects in the 9/11 affair, Mohamed Atta, allegedly visited one of casino boats a week before the murderous attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon."

Seems like this charge is all over the blogosphere.

Here's my take:

Atta and other Mulsim men of questionable association are invited to one of Jack's casino boats and are liquored up (he had been reported to be "drinking heavily" three days before 9/11) and encouraged to gamble their hearts out.

Atta happens to get in a BIG hole at the blackjack table. Abramoff and some of his mafia strongmen approach Atta and tell him they need a favor. See, some of their political taskmasters (Republicans, neocons, Bush/Cheney, PNAC, etc) have a job for someone with his background.

Atta is freaked. He doesn't want to die, but they explain to him that they'll kill him anyways, but at least this way, his family will be taken care of.

Fast forward to today, with Abramoff about to spill his guts, and Dick Cheney is hospitalized after having a panic attack. :)

Quiver boys, quiver!

(I can't imagine this is really true, but we all know what happened when Homer Simpson began blogging as Mr. X, right?) :)

1.  Nah. Too sloppy. The neocon PNAC crooks are shrewder
about covering up big crimes. That's about their most advanced skills.

3. A lot of people have looked into this
Don't mean to sound dismissive, but given the existing facts and research, your scenario is not really possible. Atta was gambing days before 9/11, and was involved in planning for the event for much longer.

The dominant theory, based on Daniel Hopsicker's reporting is that Atta was involved with drug dealers as a means of financing the plot, and that unregulated gambling casinos were useful for laundering money.

4. *laughs*
It's a joke. Hence the disclaimer at the bottom.

I figured jokes were permissible in "General Discussion".

I mean, I even through in a Homer Simpson reference. :)
