The editor-in-chief of Fire Engineering magazine, William A. Manning,
I have combed through our national standard for fire investigation, NFPA 921, but nowhere does one find an exemption allowing the destruction of evidence for buildings over 10 stories tall, Manning said.

AMEC Construction Management, a subsidiary of the British engineering firm AMEC, renovated Wedge One of the Pentagon before 9-11 and cleaned it up afterward.

AMEC had also renovated Silverstein's WTC 7, which collapsed mysteriously on 9-11, and then headed the cleanup of the WTC site afterward. The AMEC construction firm is currently in the process of closing all its offices in the United States.

1. We just wanted to get the mess out the way, you know?
All that debris and dust sure made for a lot of mess,
I know that the buildings were over 10 stories,
but hey, you know
that's why we rushed and made sure it was all clean up.
No conspiracy here, just your watergate type janitors.
We didn't need plumbers this time.

and Manning gave voice to their most legitimate concerns. We let ourselves down too, when we didn't join in their protests on Ocrober 2, 2,001
