They even believe there are good reasons for suspecting that video tapes officially attributed to Osama bin Laden are not genuine.

I have problems right off the bat with them calling the articles listed as "peer reviewed." I seriously doubt a real peer review was performed.

As an engineer I find many elements of Professor Jones paper very suspect and lacking. Specifically that obvious alternative possible explanations of particulars are not addressed and areas that are brought into question could easily be resolved by getting an expert opinions. Considering the site is called scholars for truth and Jones and others are associated with Universities, I would imagine they should be able to acquire an expert opinion if they wanted.

How about this for an error? Prof Jones goes on for a rather long time about how the fires in the towers could not produce temperatures hot enough to melt steel in reference to the molten metal found in the rubble. The fires in the towers and the underground fires are two entirely separate things. It's a rather clever ploy to confuse the issues.

The molten metal was found up to eight weeks after the collapse. The only mechanism available to generate heat with temperatures hot enough to get close to the red / orange steel temps that long after the collapse are underground fires. In fact he completely overlooks that the temps in the towers prior to the collapse has absolutely nothing to due with the rubble pile after the collapse. A serious oversight for a scholar. Remarkably he neglects to consider the possibility of underground fires. If the paper was peer reviewed according to accepted peer review processes this gross oversight would have been addressed.

Madsen is trustworthy or not. It was straightforward and non-biased. I think the mods removed it because some ended up turning it into a flame fest, but I was a bit confused that it was deleted because last I had checked it hadn't gotten that bad and the thread post itself was completely benign, but there may have been other posts within it that I hadn't gotten a chance to read yet that caused the mods to delete it. I'm not sure, but I trust the mods so I'm sure there was a valid reason.

Last I had checked the poll prior to its deletion though it was about 25 people voting emphatically that he isn't trustworthy with only 3 supporting him. It was very very apparent that not trustworthy was winning in a landslide. It was at the point I linked it here (above) to show that it wasn't just my opinion but that DU as a community pretty largely felt the same way. There were also a few mods who posted in the thread declaring Madsen isn't trustworthy and even linking to old threads where madsen called Skinner horrible names and put down DU altogether.

I am one of the most accurate people consistently when knowing what I'm talking about in life. I pride myself on it but there is an easy trick to it. I base my knowledge off of facts, logic, deduction and trust. I do not quote, repeat or speak as fact something that has doubt. That way I myself don't become a pawn of misinformation. I am responsible that way in ensuring what I learn is what is right to be learned, and what is discarded is not yet worthy of being learned.

The fact is, when a new article appears and in the first line it not only mentions Wayne Madsen as a member, but considers him an expert, than the integrity of that article IS lost right there. Wayne is not a very reliable source. I KNOW this. He's the only one on that panel I do KNOW something about. So if someone I KNOW on that panel can't be trusted with his information, than I responsibly immediately throw out the rest since I would be unable to verify or determine the accuracy of the other members or to know how many other members considered 'experts' are truly as wacko as Madsen. Some of it may be good stuff, fooj, but since they already are compromised by having Madsen on their panel and manipulating me to believe he is trustworthy of fact, I must decline in believing the rest of what they put forth will be.

I'm not dissing the theories fooj, I am a firm believer in 9/11 being far more than meets the eye and am a solid LIHOP sometimes MIHOPer. But there is so much disinformation out there on the topic I will not subject myself to articles on the subject that can be considered questionable. If an article mentions Mr. Madsen as being an expert and contributor, it is questionable, period. I therefore will choose to look for other articles by REAL experts to help further my education on the subject.
