Need help - my community is freaking over "sleeper cell" |
|
Sheikh Mubarak Ali Shah Gilani founded a movement called Jamaat ul-Fuqra. They have a camp just down the road from my hometown.
Although the wing nuts are up in arms about this, Gilani has a dubious past when it comes to matters of ISI and the murder of Daniel Pearl - not to mention 9/11.
Now, I know that things (subjects) move quickly here and I might have missed something. Can anyone fill me in? Has any background been covered here regarding Gilani?

already knows they're there and are watching. I don't think I'd worry too much about it. http://library.nps.navy.mil/home/tgp/jamat.htm

This is a "red area" of NY. The local Fox affiliates and other "news" channels are picking up on this. They are going ballistic.
I'm just looking for background on this group. Problem is...what I've found isn't good.

5. And there's probably an agent behind every tree and a microphone |

under every leaf in their vicinity. Bush would like nothing better than to find some new terrorists. In fact, he could be feeling quite desperate to find proof of a new terrorist plot by now.

6. Is this the place near the Catskills, in Hancock? |

I've looked over some of the available material, and it seems to play fast and loose with the truth. Have you seen any actual evidence that this site is anything suspicious at all? I'm reading claims of gunfire, of harassment, and a bunch of other things that sound so improbable as to almost laughable. Reading past the bullshit, I see a chain of supposition: this place is linked to an organization that's supposedly linked to terrorism. But I don't see any actual hard intel on it. Got any personal experience? From more reliable reading about this group and sub-groups, their stance tends to be more in the line of a cult, hiding from outside culture. Most violence ascribed to them seems to be towards other Muslims.

Well, you just tell those wingnuts that the same thing can be said about Porter Goss, Bob Graham, Tom Kean, Jack Abramoff, Grover Norquist, the current ambassador from Saudi Arabia, George Bush, and any number of prominent people.

I'm sorry I don't know anything about Gilani.

are what we should call people who still believe FOX News. I don't know about Gilani, but I do know some serious terrorists are running Amurika. http://www.tyrannyalert.com/video.htm:shrug:
