the answer to that question
can be found in the PNAC statement signed by Cheney, Rumsfeld, Jeb Bush, Wolfowitz, Libby, and a host of other neo-cons. The goal is global domination and control of the major oil regions. They needed a more Orwellian, nebulous enemy than Iraq. Iraq is just one step. Then there's Iran, Syria and even China. I told my Mother that if bush co. were to win the 2004 election, the war drums with Iraq would begin sounding soon after. She did not believe me. NOw she does.

1. What question?

...and even China.

I think that's a bit of stretch.

Welcome to DU.

2. OOps. Somehow I made a mistake.
I meant to post this as a reply under Bucky's thread, "Asking my MIPHOPer friends: Why did they frame Al Qaeda and not Iraq?" I didn't mean to start a new thread. If anyone knows how to delete this and move it under Bucky's post, I would be quite grateful.

I'm still pretty new to DU, so I guess my inexperience is showing. (Thanks for the welcome, Make7!)

I'll see if I can find a link to the PNAC section on China. It's quite breathtaking.

9. I kinda like this one:
http://www.newamericancentury.org/china-20031115.htm

Criticizing the great leader's policy. Tsk, tsk.

I actually didn't know what PNAC position was on China, but I don't really think it matters. There is absolutely no way that the US Government is going to exert undue pressure on China. We're too economically co-dependent, and if it came to a military confrontation, the US would most likely lose in face-off with China on their soil. Unless they resorted to nuclear weapons - which is not even a possibility.

5. Look at the HTML lookup table
Edited on Sat Apr-15-06 12:08 PM by petgoat

if you copy the "div class" command into your post, you can make the boxes.

You can do big colored fonts and stufftoo! !!!!!!

6. No I knew about the excerpt tag, silly
But the borders of your boxes have colors and they all looked uniform. I figured there was some other undocumented "quote" class you were using, but I guess you were doing it all manually.

Thanks anyway.

7. A wordprocessing macro, or a text template would make a
quote box easy for us lazy guys.

8. It's CSS. Here's my default 'quote box' code:
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color: #e6e6e6; border: solid 1px #000099"][div style="font-size: 77%; color: #000099"][b]username wrote:[/b][/div]text[/div]

You can just copy the code above and use it if you want. It might be a good idea to save it as a little txt document so you can just copy and paste it into future posts.

I took the DU html lookup table and saved it to my hard drive, and then I added my own stuff. I keep it open in another window when posting so that I can just copy and paste the basic code and then put new text in it.

For an example of what you can do with CSS if you are only slightly insane, check this out:

15. No problem. And if you use Firefox
there's an extension called BBCode that includes common codes and allows you to make your own custom tags eliminating the need for a separate file to copy and paste from. Just right click and choose your custom tag from the context menu.

16. Thanks.
I don't use firefox (although I am increasingly leaning toward figuring out how to do so) but I genuinely appreciate the suggestion and the input very much.

Cheers, Jazz.

17. Firefox is very cool. Once you've used the tabs, you never
want to go back. And if you like to play with skins, there are brazillions of them.
