I've just realized Paul Thompson had this already somewhere in his timeline but maybe it's good as a reminder as the very same photos were also presented at the Moussaoui trial.

So who is the alleged hijacker and who is not ......?

Lips, forehead size, approximate head shape, distances between eyes and from eyes to ears, nose, eyebrows... all look same to me.

Skin tone appears different due to changes in exposure.

Different expression, eyes squinting more.

Or so I think.

6. All of the separate pieces look the same

size and shape of eyes, nose, lips, but the overall look is different. He looks somewhat drugged in the second photo, which I've noticed some of them do sometimes.

7. I could go either way

I have to agree with mirandapriestly - all of the pieces look the same, esp. the distictively wide nose and the eyebrows. But overall it just doesn't seem the same person to me. So I'm undecided.

9. The differences

In the second photo:
The colour of skin is different. It appears to be a differnt type.
The irises are narrower.
The face is clearly broader. The neck thicker.
The expression not only of the eyes (which appear smaller not only more closed) and especially the expression of the mouth is significantly differnt. Please note that from a certain age the expression of the mouth hardly changes anymore.
Last but not least the ears are different.

10. No. Listen to the people.

What you call to be different is not different in the eyes of others. The skin tan can change. Even a black man can get sunburned when he lieved in a cold area before, the irises may change because of drugs and so on.

Take it face value. As it is. We find several times faces which resemble one another. Then we find that even the faces of some of the allged hijackers look similar to those of others.
Then we notice the bad queality of all the faces, here and in the 7/7 London cases.

Take it all together and imagine a guy to tell his photoshop-specialist: give me a set of photos of different young middle-eastern looking men, passport type. Take the 5 or seven as an example. And now juggle, make them older looking and younger and different like in real life. Here you have a set of eyes, here take these ears, dont forget they all have thick lips and big eyebrows.

Imagine that. Look into Attas faces which looks so cold and dead. That is why.

And because of that you will not be able to prove very much by these photos. I am sorry but we are dependend on producers of photos. Not one was published by independent people. Not one.

11. I agree

well, not completely, in my eyes these two pictures clearly do show two different people but I certainly agree that this is too much dependent on personal judgement as long as we don't get our hands on any professional software.
Btw the explanation with the photoshop and the striking absence of any private photos taken during the stay of the alleged hijackers in the US is very well taken.
Totally agreeing that this is not a proof I still do recommend everybody to have a glance on the photos of the alleged hijackers as presented at the Moussaoui trial. In many cases I do wonder if these are really the very same persons.

8. Can't we use facial recognition software

to verify this? I mean, if the software says there is no match (and similarly with Jarrah, etc.), that would be more accurate than just saying subjectively whether one guy looks like another. Does anyone have access to software like this? I'd like to know what it would say.
