The Pentagon eyewitnesses
Okay, I wish to clarify something the "debunkers" always harp upon. They point out that many eyewitnesses saw a large passenger plane crashing into the Pentagon.

But I for one have never disputed this. I find it suspicious that the government won't release the various other videos it has of the attack, but I do not expect to see anything other than a Boeing.

Nevertheless, I wonder exactly how this demonstrates that Hani Hanjour was the pilot who executed the aerobatic maneuver.

Did any of the eyewitnesses claim they could see inside the cockpit? Enlighten me.

1. I heard an "eyewitness" on Ed Schultz
who started off by saying how ridiculous the CT people were because she "saw a plane". Then she said "I'M sure I saw a plane.
Then she said "I think I saw a plane", At that point you must recognize that that is why courts ALWAYS give more weight to physical
evidence then "eyewitnesses".
The mind is a strange malleable thing that is not entirely our own possession.

2. I'm pretty much where you are.
I suspect that at some point the videotapes that we want to see released will be....and we'll see 77 disappear into the Pentagon. I'm beginning to think they want to have the controversy continue indefinitely. Given the lagtime on releasing will now make this tape suspect, too. Why it wasn't released at the time when the crappy security picks were released, I have no idea...but this seems to be a criminal act in and of itself.

3. Let's not forget.
...that there exists out there much evidence to show that certain of these "eye witnesses" (or at least the vocal ones) could in fact have been Republican operatives.

4. I didn't know that
but it figures. Also, there was a conservative columnist for USA Today and lots of military describing the plane. I remember looking into it at one point and it was really pretty suspicious. OTOH, the OP has a really good point. If the Pentagon gets all this interest going from the release of this tape, then finally "under pressure" releases the footage showing a plane then the whole skepticism about Hanjour will be thrown out WITH the skepticism about what hit the Pentagon and the talking points will be handed to the online army of debunkers "oh not that again, now you're going to say the footage was FAKED? I suppose it was flown by aliens, etc.. :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat::tinfoilhat:" when anyone brings up Hanjour's flight skills.

5. Of course your would expect
a fair number of the eyewitnesses to have a military connection since the attack was on a military facility. What is odd though is that most of the other eyewitnesses were members of the M$M, with a surprising number from USA Today.

Very few of the witnesses who claim to see a plane hit the Pentagon, were ordinary people.

Also seeing the plane or seeing the explosion is not the same has seeing the plane AND the explosion. Those witnesses are a much smaller subset.

Second, very few of these 'eyewitnesses' ever mention the C130 that went over the Pentagon less then a minute after the attack that was chasing Flight 77.

USA Today offices
Have an excellent view of the Pentagon from the side that was hit.

Gannett puts out a newspaper for every branch of the services. It's practically a military subsidiary. I would think the Pentagon is crawling with at least a hundred of these guys at any given time, so 10 of them seeing the attack isn't that special... though it may also indicate they heard warning that something was coming, and ran out to position themselves around the building.

Check out this very interesting video:
(OOPS - Site currently down. It shows USA Today reporter Jim Kelley on 9/11, reporting from Gannett offices, with an excellent view of smoke coming out of the Pentagon through the window behind him. He is furthermore relating that the FBI has a working theory that the perpetrators planted vans with bombs in the basements of the Twin Towers to bring them down.)

9. Pentagon video footage
http://www.osamawasframed.com/pentagonvideos.html

Seems pretty straightforward.

The FOA Pentagon videos show an A3 Skywarrior hitting, not a 757.

Why the media blackout about this?

Its a 'slam dunk' case.

7. The reports that I was referring to
Edited on Sat May-20-06 11:19 AM by DoYouEverWonder
were from people who were not in the USA Today building. If you track down many of the eyewitnesses are that were in their cars or in other locations one of the recurring common denominators is that they worked for USA Today.

It may be easier to work backwards and try to find an eyewitness who isn't in some way connect to BushCo and/or the M$M. There are not very many of those types of witnesses around.

8. yes but...
The point is the building is right there; and a whole bunch of them work as reporters in the Pentagon. So they will be crawling all over the area between their office and the Pentagon. And having a dozen of them in place to see two wedges worth of the outside of the building at any given time is not necessarily significant. I have seen a list of 10 or more Gannett reporters and editors who were among the witnesses, and this doesn't seem so strange if you assume a few hundred Gannett workers.
