A challenge to a 9/11 DUer : create an interactive public timeline
I would like to see a public interactive timeline created covering the events of/on 9/11.

A tight timeline that will make it posisble to really see the dots and make them easier to connect.

I discoved this tool today that would be almost ideal: SIMILE timeline project
http://simile.mit.edu/timeline/

think interactive..

Here is a CNET story on it:
http://news.com.com/2061-12572_3-6093711.html

disclosure: I am personally interested in writing a play which take a look into the events on the morning of 9/11 that is timeline based but from a highly specific angle.

If anyone has an interest in working on the timeline pls message me. I am unable to take it on for personal reasons.

The truth can be known.

2. thanks but..
All the data is there but:
1) is not graphic based - or at least graphically represented

2) Not interactive

I have seen this and it's amazing.

Thank you!

registered members can (or soon will be able to) write entries -- which will be reviewed and posted.

4. user input is not the type of interactivity I was speaking to
sorry for not being more clear..

unser content contributions is certainly interactivity.. no question

the interactivity I was talking about or should have talked about is being able to change the time scale, expanding certain segments, clicking on some elements for depper context etc

I hope that's helpful

I am envisioning then need for a visual linerar diaplay that can be intereacted with based upon the best availabel data source(s)

thank you!

5. That is a great idea.
I can't help you. Seems like it would take quite a bit of time but well worth it.
