Another "my son" story (this is GOOD)
So he just came home and said his friend had registered 9 voters today... wohoo!

All Republican... boo.

But wait.

His friend got a voter registration job. Tough time registering voters, either they don't want to register or certainly DO NOT want to register Republican. Until he tells them... you don't have to VOTE Republican and you'll be taking $15 out of the RNC coffers. Does the trick every time!

Bwahahahahhaha!

1. They are paying $15.00 per registration? Is that legal?

4. Yes
It's legal to pay for registrations. I'm sure he has to accept them all, I asked my son to double check and make sure the company told him that. But he only gets paid for the Republican ones. So he's basically registering Dem voters as Pubs, because he can't get anybody to register Pub otherwise. Takes money out of their campaign budget, skews their voter turnout, and makes the kid some money at the same time. Sounds good to me.

6. Be sure to report this to Brit Hume; you know how he loves reporting on
Michael Moore "bribing" people to promise to vote with underwear and ramen noodles.

8. Nobody's being bribed
Nobody gets paid for registering, the person doing the registering gets paid. That's done all the time, for voter registration, petitions, etc.

13. It was a funny point though
I got it, it's just with the rest of these posts, I thought I better be very clear. I thought my original post was clear, and funny. Who knew? Oh well.

2. I don't get it...
Sorry for being dense. So the friend has a job registration job for Republicans? And he gets paid to register people, but only repubs? Is this correct?

5. Gets paid for pubs
I imagine he's supposed to register anybody, I know that's the law. I asked my son to check and make sure that's what he was told, otherwise they're violating campaign finance law. But nobody will register until they realize they can screw the Republican Party out of $15 bucks and vote Dem anyway.

9. Are you sure about this?
I thought in some states you had to be a registered Republican in order to vote Republican.

How they prove it behind the voting machine (or whatever) I don't know, so I've probably got it wrong.

10. Only in the primaries
Not in the GE. Anybody can vote for anybody in the General Election.

12. Not that way in WA
We do have to vote one-party only in our primaries, but we can vote however we want in the real election. I guess the primaries don't have to be fair because they are an add-on to the process anyway. And anyone who doesn't participate in the primaries can always wage a write-in campaign! hahaha

7. Wow, no
He's getting paid by a company for each R registration he turns in. I kind of thought everybody knew there were companies that pay for voter registration. That's how we end up with so many registration irregularities, and it's particularly bad this year amongst Republicans. An article today about false R registrations down in Florida.
