Kerry had some very provocative words today:
Did you catch it? I wish I had a link, or could quote him directly, but a soundbite of his speech was on the radio today (maybe it was from yesterday?).
Kerry said something along the lines of, "The way things are going, who knows how big a mess I'm going to find on January 20th." His point was that Bush was telling so many lies about Iraq that Kerry was going to discover an even bigger mess than he imagined, when he finally takes over as President. Not IF he takes over as President, but WHEN. This is the first time I've heard Kerry do this. I like it, but it is risky. A candidate CAN sound arrogant, or over confident if they start referring to their election as an inevitability. None the less, I think it was great to hear Kerry refer to WHEN he was going to take over the WH.
I'm looking forward to the day!

1. It is risky, but there are times when it can work
Take the '85 Chicago Bears. They recorded a lousy little record, "The Super Bowl Shuffle," and it seemed to have an effect on them (and the town) that carried them all the way to the Bowl--and to victory. A calculated risk like that can create a positive momentum.

2. It helped that they completely outclassed New England
in every way.

Sort of like Kerry v. Bush.

3. Saw it , it was great
No link, but absolutely right on response to Bush babbling trying to cover up latest CIA report. Plus, he had a mini press conference. Plus, he looked smashingly presidential in comparison to sweaty dumbya.

Didn't see it on network news - but there was just the minor matter of Baghdad blowing up again as well as the carnage in Egypt.

4. He is doing exactly what he should
but another site says the repugs are regrouping. They are set to lay out a lot of BS; more than Kerry can respond to. Could backfire.

6. He can't know about Iraq, * has 3 months to really f**k it up. I like when
I'm president but I've heard it before. I think he uses it once in awhile. Tries to give everyone what they want.

9. It is the perfect response to people who want to know his plan
He has a general outline of the approach he would take to deal with Iraq. The Bush administration is our main roadblock to partnership, even if most countries would want to get their head examined for getting involved right now.

He can't know how much worse it can get as this admin is so hip on good news, he can't know the actual truth but by what HE can independently verify to be so.
