What Can Bunnypants Say Good About The Economy?
A little devil's advocate session here.

Tomorrow's theme is the economy. The manchild is going to need to sound upbeat and really make shit into apple butter. I'm curious what he can put up there that will connect with anyone outside his hive.

Of course we'll hear the spin crap about the "tax cuts"...hopefully Senator Kerry is ready to explain how those cuts have hurt this country and who really benefits.

Besides the cuts what's left? Stock market? Interest Rates? While lying like a rug is the hallmark of this regime, I can't see them even going near the unemployment numbers or anything that would give someone sitting at home with rising fuel and other costs, a crappy job market and shrinking investments to feel good about what this doofus has done.

Sidebar: I expect after the tax cuts, it'll be "9/11 changed everything"...and I hope that's beat into the ground since the Bush recession began the moment that asshole took office and it hasn't let up since.

Debate one was supposed to be Bunnypants time to shine...he could have put this race in his rear view mirror had he not been unmasked so expertly by Senator Kerry. How can he counter tomorrow?

Thanks for any replies...

1. see the beauty of the situation is....
for every lie that escapes from his smirk, there's millions of americans that know it to be a lie, simply from living in america.

ie: if he brags about prescription drugs, there's millions of seniors, and the seniors' children, that know that prescription drugs have gotten more expensive AND shrub blocked these poor folks from getting drugs from canada.

if he brags about jobs, there's the millions who took lower paying jobs after watching their companies fold and/or outsource. and of course, the friends and families of those poor souls. not to mention that millions of americans that are unemployed, or have become unemployed, in the last 3.5 years.

and so on.

3. "Record Homeownership"
This one's a misnomer. He'd have had to Cheney up real bad to have made less people own homes than before he was president. More people own homes every year, it has a lot to do with population growth, I think.

Kerry also needs to debunk the myth that 9/11 had a long term effect on our economy, but maybe this is too much for middle America.

8. That's The Only Good Thing...Sorta
I joke the most popular yard sign in my Repugnican area is "For Sale". That's due to the large number of high tech jobs that have been eliminated and outsourced in the past two years. Last night I drove past Motorola's corporate headquarters. 8 years ago that place was cranking Cellphones & computer chips on 3 shifts and that building was lit like up bright at all hours. The other night it was virtually dark.

Most homeowners can see that their property values rose, but now let's see why that's happened. A dirty secret...how else do you think your local municipalities made up for the short fall in federal monies they lost when asshole cut the taxes to the rich, thus removing billions from the bottom lines of tax forms that are used as the starting point on state taxes.

Homeownership at low interest rates is quickly becoming a thing of the past as interest rates will rise now to reflect the huge defecits that are piling up and all the borrowing that's going to take place just to cover interest payments.

It's be pure killer if Kerry paints a vivid picture of what another 4 years of this regime handling the economy could mean.

10. It's Clinton Hammer Time
One of the most devestating charts I've ever seen is the one that shows the federal defecits over the past 25 years (I know Bartcop shows it regularly) that shows the sharp rises in the 90s and the plunge starting in 2001.

I know one defense this asshole will try (and probably not get called on) is "we inherited a bad economy". This from the same assholes who claimed the 90's was the result of the "Raygun economy" (they conveniently wrote the recession of 90-93 out of the picture). I hope Kerry stand ready with some hard cold figures that just slam it in the manchild's face at to how bad things turned so fast...and all the great opportunities that have been, the money wasted and now being given to Haliburton!!!

In my ideal world, Kerry would sum up....looking doofus in his twisted, pained face and say "Are we really better off today than we are four years ago...tell the American people that's the case with a straight face". Damn...
