Kerry's debate answer: $87 Billion "flip-flop" |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 10:34 PM by zulchzulu
Kerry:
First of all, the vote for an additional $87 Billion was based on Bush's incompetent miscalculation of the cost of his careless war based on lies. The Republicans voted against it before they voted for it. It was essentially two votes, hence the "voting for before voting against".
What the Republicans voted against was letting the top 1% not get a free ride. They wanted the top 1% to get a nice tax cut while the rest of Americans paid for the miscalculation in taxes and sons and daughters.
What they voted for was a free ride for the top 1% to enjoy the luxury of a hefty tax cut at the expense of those that paid in taxes and sons and daughters sent to the needless war.
I voted for the top 1% not to get a free ride while the rest of us paid for Bush's mistake in blood and taxes. I voted against Bush's greedy miscalculation as a protest knowing that the Republicans would rather side with the Halliburton, the Saudi Royal Family and the top 1% that thought getting a free ride at the time of war was fair.
To love the true America I love means that all Americans share the same burden and and fair to one another.
So, as you pay attention, you see that the vote was against allowing to the top 1% to get a free ride while the rest of America paid in taxes and their sons and daughters died.
On edit: changed to be Kerry speaking

this is getting closer, but ya gotta really push the fact harder of the Republicans voting against the $87 billion before they voted for it.

that we finally get this issue CLOSED. Twice the campaign has had the chance to shut it down (in the debates) and hasn't quite gotten it done. There won't be many more chances and this issue (non-issue) seems to be a thorn in our sides.

just state why he did it. I'm sure it was a "Smarter" reason than a Bush reason. Once again Kerry looking out for all people and not just the upper crust.
Will his answer really matter to an undecided person? If their still undecided at this point they have alot more personal issues to deal with than this.
