Bush Got Played (And He Doesn't Want To Admit It)
Who can blame him? There are a lot of people out there right now who feel the same way: PLAYED. Some of them are angry, some are embarrassed, and some just don't care. Its not like there are any 'real' consequences for anybody or anything, right? (I hope the sarcasm meter is registering here....)

Anyway, Challabi and his minions wanted to take charge of the Iraqi government and its money. They couldn't take Saddam out themselves, so they "played" with the GULLIBLE folk until they had Bush and his people in such a panic about how "dangerous" Saddam was that Bush loaned them his military. It was an absolutely brilliant move on their part -- 1) Lie about the danger (and get paid for it); 2) Take out your enemy (and the guy who is in charge of the check book); 3) Kick out the borrowed "helpers" (and make your people 'love you' for it); and 4) Count YOUR money!

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Of course, you have to find a gullible cretin with a big army before the plan works, but apparently that wasn't all that difficult, hmmm?

Personally, I'm thinking I've been working too hard for my money, so I want to try this routine myself.

Did I ever mention my PERSONAL knowledge of the dangerous (thinking, thinking) Weapons of Mass Destruction located in (thinking, thinking) ALASKA? Yes, it is ALL TRUE -- BAD ALASKA! BAD! We should go take them over right now to stop their nefarious deeds! And take over their oil fields! And put ME in charge of them! Or at least the money portion of them -- I really don't care about the actual work involved in running them. I just want the benefit of the bank account.

(Can you make that monthly check of $350,000 payable to 'Cash'?)

What do you think? I can look very sincere. Or, do you think I should visit there at least once before I start trying to play this game on Mr. Gullible?

1. Won't fly...
... Alaska is full of Republicans....

Might I suggest Brazil, which is, after all, a foreign country, and not a state of ours? :P

Cheers.

4. You Are Right! I was mistaken -- it was BRAZIL!
Besides, they talk funny there, so it was one of those secret giveaway things. Portuguese or Spanish or something UNAMERICAN. BAD BRAZIL! BAD!!!

Say, are you going to want a cut for your help in identifying the proper continent? (LOL)

14. Uh, just maybe residuals on profits...
... from companies enslaving the population. That would do me fine. Maybe an ambassadorship, too. :P

After all, if one's going to become a whore to profit, at least one can try to remain a pretty one. :P

2. The funny thing is...

That * is running on his 'decisiveness', on his judgement. We're supposed to trust a bozo that was so easily led far afield by a guy who had a documented history of bank fraud? We're supposed to vote Bush because he's so sage? Puhhhhhhleeeeeeezzzzeeeee.

5. I was trying to go for "mocking" -- did it not work?
I'm thinking GULLIBLE is a good antidote for all those nonsense words * uses. :)

10. I'm glad it was obvious. <grin>
I was going for the "whack over the head with a frying pan" subtlety that I am known for amongst friends and family! :) (I think I'm going to bed -- a little too much slap happy happening....)

11. Chalabi got used like an expensive gigolo.
The person who did the playing here, oddly enough, was Saddam. Once Bush decided to invade, Saddam's goose was cooked. He knew it, and planned the guerrilla war in advance. He probably took grim satisfaction in knowing there were no weapons and Bush would end up looking like an ass.

Bush rolled the dice on finding WMDs, and most people thought they were there, in at least some small amounts. I know I did, and I've known Chalabi was scum for years, and knew Powell's address to the U.N. was horseshit as I listened. But surely, a country like Iraq, surrounded by hostile and semi-hostile states, was holding some weapons, or so I thought. Had they been holding them, Bush would be gold now. He knew exactly what he was getting in to -- he made what looked like a good bet and lost the roll. The game isn't over yet though.

15. Seriously, one of my biggest objections to this administration...
(this is going to sound bad) They couldn't even PLANT some to make it LOOK legitimate? I mean, come on! :eyes: This implies Mr. Gullible REALLY BELIEVED the Challabi crew, otherwise I'm sure a few could have been painted, right? How tough is it to find something that looks dangerous -- other than a wish list, of course? The rest of us have SOME excuse -- no access to the raw data -- but our little dreamer boy had spy satellites and stuff. :eyes:

19. It's not as easy to get away with that sort of stuff
as people make believe. Weapons materials are heavily regulated; to get enough to make a convincing plant and transport it there would require that a lot of people know about it, and a huge paper trail be obliterated. They would need to produce Iraqi witnesses that it was Iraqi in origin, then the Iraqi scientists and military people who knew nothing about it but would have would have to be answered. The risk of the story unraveling was too great, and such a story would make Watergate look trivial by comparison.

Look at the chain:

Get the materials without anyone finding out about it who might squeal.

Make sure the materials are authentic enough to fool impartial experts.

Transport the materials to Iraq, and then find them in a place or places none of the previous weapons inspectors had been to before, yet it would have to be a logical place to hide WMDs.

Produce witnesses who swear the weapons are Iraqi, and can explain their origin.

Overcome the denials of the Iraqis who were high up in Saddam's administration, and who would certainly deny involvement and point out inconsistencies.

It wasn't going to happen.

17. Ah, but the real question is --
Did Mr. Bush DELIBERATELY MISLEAD the Merican people, or is he JUST A GULLIBLE FOOL? Which landmine do you think he wants to step into, hmmm? Liar or Idiot?
