We just watched F-9/11 for the first time tonight
We rented it from Hollywood Video.

My wife and I watched it.

We are stunned. Angry. Saddened.

I just want to cry. I am...

29. Be prepared to be numb. I came out of the theater after my
first viewing and was so numb I wanted to go crawl into a corner somewhere and not have anyone speak to me for hours. So much to process. Watch it more than once. It takes more than one viewing to see how MM connects the dots. When you get THAT part - OMG. Then I was stunned. MM is my hero. And yes, have the Kleenex ready.

42. Thanks for the response
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 04:05 PM by Carla in Ca
I know my husband and I will be caught up in it, and we will watch it more than once. I'm anxious and nervous at the same time! But we will be brave and I know we will be so glad we finally saw it.

Thanks again.

it's really good for presenting the entire 'persuasion' mode i feel... and i could easily use it as a framing device to generate discussion and essay assignments

14. It's even more important now that it has been determined
that there were no WMD's. I watched it again today and felt as ashamed of what we are doing to the Iraqi people who have done absolutely nothing to us. In their mind, they are fighting an invading force that is killing their children - ask your students what they would do if a country invaded the U.S. - the same damn thing. Sad and disturbing.

4. I saw it when it first premiered in theatres a few months ago.
And, I bought two copies today (one was a gift).

I'm looking forward to the additional footage on DVD. The original film was awesome. I can't wait to see it on tv.

I hope more folks do the same.

nephew, along with information about the Draft. My brother is a bush* supporter, for some unknown reason. It will probably piss him off, but I just don't care anymore.

6. Got my 3 DVDs today...
1 to keep, 1 for the local library, and 1 we will give away tomorrow night at our Debate Party.

Also bought the F9/11 Reader (has the script plus a bunch of extra stuff).

7. It should be mandatory viewing for all Americans
IMHO. We all get to see "the other side"-and ONLY the other side- daily on the corporate news channels. The material left untold could fill a thousand F 9/11s.

Anyone with the means to purchase an extra copy might consider donating one or more to a library or Kerry HQ in a swing state. I think it could have a real impact on this election.

10. Michael Moore is a true patriot
80% of the people that put down the movie haven't seen it and they are the ones who should see it.

I bawled through every viewing!

If Moore's comments at the end of that movie don't make you want to vote those Bush bums right out on their asses, nothing will.

16. After reading all about it here
and on Michael Moore's website my wife and I decided we just had to see it. Nothing I read could prepare me for what I saw. What a truly
heartless bastard that bush is. I could list so many things here that disgusted me it would take me all night. One thing that got me was when he was golfing and talking about were gonna get all those terrorists, then he says "now watch this drive". Yeah, that's the kind of man I wan't ruining(running) this country. He has no regard for anyone but himself. I don't want to ruin it for anyone that hasn't seen it, so that's enough for now.

17. Get this movie around.
I'm gonna buy it and watch it once, and have my mom passit around to swing voters and such. All my friends are voting Kerry already. Make copies of it. Distribute burned CD's on campuses! Everyone has to see this movie! If you know a Repuke, CHALLENGE them to see it, saying that if they are so sure that Bush is a good leader, they should be able to watch it and still support him.

18. F-9/11 is just a sampler......
Not saying that Moore didn't do a great job; he put a lot of information into the timeframe of a typical movie, probably catering to the limited attention span of most of america. He kept it concise, entertaining, and interesting, and thus effectively got the word out to the masses.

But if you want the full stories behind the major elements of F-9/11, I highly recommend

Uncovered: The Whole Truth About The Iraq War

and

Unprecedented: The 2000 Presidential Election

When you see the WHOLE story you will be TRULY appalled. The amount of information that the US media left uncovered in the 2000 election is flat out disturbing.

19. PS.........
If you've got any friends that are undecided or plan to vote for W but are at least willing to give a fair hearing to some well presented information, these two movies are your ticket.

They are both true documentaries. A lot of people are turned off by Moore's style, or they hate him because of Bowling For Columbine if they're gun enthusiasts, so you're not even gonna get them to consider watching F-9/11.

As a mom myself I couldn't help but cry to see that dead toddler being loaded on the truck full of bodies in Iraq, the Iraqi mother screaming and crying and begging for retribution, and the mom from Flint breaking down in front of the White House. I can't even imagine the pain those parents feel.

44. The Iraqi woman could have been Lila's older sister
Would not have been out of place at all in a photo of the extended family.

Also, I heard via email that at least one native speaker of Arabic said that the Iraqi woman was cursing Allah for abandoning her, and was really shocked, having never heard anything like that from a Muslim.

23. it's easy to say how bad bush is and how badly he's harming the country.
but after watching f9/11, i want to go up to all the people i've dissed bush to and tell them that what i said before was just rhetoric.

NOW i understand HOW truly bad he is. HOW corrupt and unconcerned with our country he is.

his family and their friends baker, bath, et. al., are as rotten as a dog's carcass that's been sitting by the interstate for a week in the summer. the things they've done to this country were, to me, unimaginable four or five years ago.

if bush wins this election we are in deep, deep trouble. our homes, our jobs, the quality of our lives. he's the public figurehead for a group that runs this country for the rich and only the rich.

and they're just getting warmed up.

30. Shame on you! You just told on yourself. How could you not go and
watch it when it was in the theatres?

I watched it again two days ago and had to turn it off after the seen in the Senate. I broke down crying. Damn stupid african-americans for actually believing in democracy. And so it goes with the rest of the world. They actually believe in our ideals. Our ideals are the lighthouse for the world. Unfortunately, we don't live up to them.
We brag about exporting democracy when we don't practice it here.

One of my friends really pissed me off not going to see it. She thought it was nothing but Bush bashing and didn't need to see it. (She pretends to be staunch democrat). I can't wait to shove the dvd in her face. Can't wait.

I played a couple of the special features. The one of the embedded journalist and the raid in Samara really pissed me off. I am ashamed to be an American when I see our young soldiers degrading their "trophies" like that.

Just like Kerry asked during Vietnam: Where are the leaders?
