October surprise to be rolled out in an hour?
But who will that September jobs report favor...that's the question. Obviously, * is going to spin it in his favor if it's positive, and blame the hurricane(s) if it's negative.

2. Even though some people's businesses were destroyed
and people lost their jobs as a result, many other jobs were created. The folks in the construction, electrical, or trash hauling business can't find enough people or hours in the day to do all the work that needs to be done. Restaurants are booming because a lot more people were going out to eat because they had no electric. And try to find a hotel room in this state, forget about it.

4. It's interesting that if we destroyed every building in the country, we
would get an economic boom because of all the jobs that would be created to rebuild.

6. That's why you don't see big lines for food and ice
or people packing into shelters.

At this point, most people ride the storms out at home or go to a hotel, which is a lot more comfortable than being stuck in a shelter.

And why wait in line for ice and food, when the local supermarkets still had ice to sell and most of the restaurants managed to stay open?

:snip:

The four hurricanes striking Florida and other coastal states the past two months “appears to have held down employment growth, but not enough to change (the overall jobs picture) materially,” the Labor Department said Friday in assessing September’s national employment situation.
