At the risk of sounding totally superficial...... |

Why haven't we heard one word in the press about *'s obvious weight gain in the past year? If it was Gore or Kerry, we'd hear about it 24/7. The media whores would "pretend" it was a health issue, and devote whole shows to it when they wanted to be serious, and the rest of the time they would just ridicule and laugh about it. Think I'm exaggerating? Remember "earth tones". That tells you all you need to know about how the corporate media covers Dems.
In *'s case, his weight gain is combined with a very pronounced decline (didn't think it could get any lower, did you?) in mental and verbal ability, and a refusal to take his August physical. In fact, * has postponed his physical until after the election. We all hope he'll be a private citizen by then anyway, but what's he trying to hide?

1. This is why he is not getting a physical, IMO |

They have spent so much time talking about his discipline, laser like focus. His health is not just great, it is better than anyone's health.
I think they are fearful that if Bush had the physical, the news reports that he has gained 10 lbs (or whatever the number) will undermine the fiction they have created.
Let's face it -- I've not seen Bush on a bike (2 shots - one a still shot). I have no sense that he is actually exercising. I don't care what he does, except that he has made this an issue. They have attacked Kerry's sporting activities -- which made me more suspicious. Everytime they are vunerable on an issue, they attack on that issue.
The person on the cover of running magazine is not Bush -- it is Edwards. Bush hasn't been the model of physical activity lately.

Bush is famous for having an extremely structured exercise program; every day leaves plenty of time for him to exercise. I've read that such heavy exercising is a sign of a dry-drunk (as well as many other innocuous reasons). Bush has replaced his habitual, emotional, and psychological need for alcohol with an addiction to exercise.
But what if he's taken to drinking again instead of exercising? This would explain his weight gain, as well as the innumerable other problems.

This is further proof that there is a total double standard in the media; * is treated with kid gloves.
