Jobs shillfest falls flat.

Ginsburg, Kudlow, etc. were all shilling for the RNC last night about a 150K jobs jump. But the number is only 96K.

It's curious that they would pitch what ends up being a high number. The savvy campaigner would have lowballed it, say at 50K, then exclaimed this morning: LOOK, IT'S EVEN HIGHER!

Either their moles at BLS have been coopted by Kerry or, more likely, they're just not as bright as they pretend to be on TV.

2. Larry Kudlow for Treasury Secretary!

Ben Ginsburg for Commissioner of BLS!

Anyone remember "Trading Places" with Eddie Murphy & Dan Aykroyd?
The climax comes when a couple of evil, racist, conniving old stockbrokers THINK they've received inside info on the forecast for oranges. They're set to make a bundle on juice futures. But they got the wrong numbers.

This morning's jobs report is a case of life imitating art -- Kudlow & Co. THOUGHT they had the right numbers.

3. Always look at the stock market
on the previous day.

The insiders on "The Street" already know the number. When the number is going to be good the next day, the market soars. When it is below expectations, the market tanks on Thursday, which is exactly what happened.

This has happened too many times for there not to be something to it.

4.  ... which makes the Kudlow prediction all the more a mystery

Presumably he's as insiderish as you can get w/out being the actual number-cruncher.
