We have a winner! Kerry in the lead on electoral-votes!
http://www.electoral-vote.com

Kerry 280, Bush 239

Sorry if this is a dupe. I haven't seen such good results (or any lead for Kerry for that matter) on electoral-votes at any time since I started watching two weeks ago. Well except the 538:0 bit, but that wasn't real. ;)

Has it been this good before?

1. This was basically the news on C-Span
this morning. However, the electoral votes weren't that high. Kerry is definitely ahead.

2. Not for a while
However, I distrust polls whatever they say (even though the trend is unmistakable)

Kerry had more than 300 a few months ago.
A lot of states are within the margin of error.

It's not over yet! (But we DO hope.)

3. Loading times of the site are slow...
Why is this? Is everyone checking it right now, or are there web crawlers who go over the site at this time? It took several minutes to load, and then wouldn't display any pictures. I would have loved to see that map...

6. Very cool, but site is down
But very good news. Kerry was actually ahead for much of the past 3 months, except the past couple weeks. Good to hear he is back up on top. The EV site must be getting slammed cuz I havent been able to get on in the past 30 min.

7. Yes, it HAS been this good before.
And it'll get worse... and better... and worse again before we win this thing IN A LANDSLIDE.

That just means we gotta LOT of work ahead of us in the next month. Will you be one of ONE MILLION volunteers ringing doorbells tomorrow? Call your local Kerry office and sign up NOW.

23.

8. I sure would, if I were over in America.
As it happens, I can only look on helplessly (and maybe make a donation, though I'm a poor college student)... I wish I were there.

9. Remember that this site tends toward conservative numbers
So if Kerry is in the lead here, it's good news.

12. Mostly Rammussen and Survey USA
I've heard that they're both conservative leaning....but I don't know.

It's hard to seperate truth from fiction these days!

10. Numbers are murky if you consider Colo & Maine
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 09:11 AM by Jersey Devil
Though Kerry is ahead in Maine Bush is ahead in one district that under Maine law would give him 1 of Maine's electoral votes. In Colo, the electoral vote will be split so it is possible with a close race for either to pick up 5 and the other 4 of Colo's 9 electoral votes if the referendum (which would be effective in this election) passes.
