W is for WONKAVISION ... (toons & editorial)

Note: Tonight's Debate Will Be Broadcast In Wonkavision

Who can make a surplus
Disappear from view
Return us to the market
As it was in '92?

The Condiman
The Condiman can
The Condiman can 'cause he fixes it with cuts
That make the rich feel good

Who can make the debt grow
Start a war and lie
Make another run
And hope the court breaks the tie?

The Condiman
The Condiman can
The Condiman can 'cause he fixes it with cuts
That make the rich feel good

The Condiman inflates
Lies and misstates
Lacking leadership and vision
Talk about a failed mission
Another crooked politician!

Who could end tomorrow
Who is too extreme
Create a lot of sorrow

News deluge soaks Bush
By Palm Beach Post Editorial
Friday, October 08, 2004

Reality is raining so hard on President Bush that he can't even put up his umbrella. All he can do is swing it, and look less and less credible by the day. ...

With tonight's second debate in mind, the president who pouted through much of the first played his well-worn Greatest Hits On John Kerry album. He's got a "strategy of defeat" for Iraq. He is "proposing policies and doctrines that would weaken America and make the world more dangerous." He has a "September the 10th mind-set" about fighting terrorism. And so on. Anything to avoid news that demolishes Mr. Bush's fantasy view of the mess he has made. ...

1. A World Of Pure Imagination ...

Bush lives in a fantasy world of spin, "a world of pure imagination."

PURE IMAGINATION LYRICS

Hold your breath
Make a wish
Count to three

Come with me
And you'll be
In a world of
Pure imagination
Take a look
And you'll see
Into your imagination

We'll begin
With a spin
Traveling in
The world of my creation
What we'll see
Will defy
Explanation

If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world?
There's nothing
To it

There is no
Life I know
To compare with
Pure imagination
Living there
You'll be free
If you truly wish to be

If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world?
There's nothing
To it

There is no
Life I know
To compare with
Pure imagination
Living there
You'll be free
If you truly
Wish to be

Bush: Deceptive or Delusional
By Robert Parry, Consortium
Oct 2, 2004

Bush’s inability – or unwillingness – to frankly acknowledge these realities remains one of the most troubling aspects in his bid for a second White House term. Either he’s living in a fantasy world where facts are whatever he thinks they are or he has concluded that most American voters are very stupid and will believe whatever he tells them.
