CNNservative: Highlighting Fear/Security Moms |
|
I used to think John King was fairly impartial. This hit job shows his price has been met and paid.
He supposedly interview undecided women about "security" (Red Flag #1 - "Security Mom" is a phony tag by the RNC that sounds far nicer than their previous name..."trailer trash"). Then he mentions how these women have "agonized" over their choices and it wasn't health care or jobs or the rising cost of food and energy, but security was their prime issue.
The first "undecided" was a woman who said she was going to vote for Bunnypants cause he "acts and makes me feel safe". She said (sit down for this one)...she is scared about going to the mall (somehow this HER mall is on some secret Al Queda hit list) and it's Bunnypants who will protect her and not have her security put to a Global Test. Shall we count the talking points? I was waiting for the kool-aid man to come crashing through the wall.
Then King interviews a woman he claims is "gonna be a tougher sell for the pResident". This woman also cited fears for her children...and mentions the economy and health care, BUT she doesn't think Kerry is tough enough to protect her.
Then Rush Limbaugh's Beard comes on and cites polls that show "Security Moms" favor Bunnypants over Kerry by 10 points and skewed Gallup polls showing tie races in New Mexico (Bill Richardson's state????), Wisconsin (expect that to change) and Colorado (Rove's gotta be shitting bricks on this one).
The fearmongring CNNservative has been presenting over this campaign is almost as deceitful as their lie of a logo "America's most trusted network". Sorry, that relationship eneded the day the network started manufacturing news (circa 1998) and loses more credibility every day.
Here's hoping David Brooks is watching and chronicling what's been transpiring on this election...there's a Pulitzer Prize book waiting to be written.
Cheers!

It never ceases to amaze how Rove and his ilk have refined fear into such a manipulative force. It's ability to mortify people is just astounding...especially since many of these people have had some level of education.
Of course, if you took a poll of those who live in fear and those who have "strong faith" the numbers would mirror one another. They need worlds of absolutes...greys and having to make real choice scare the shit out of them. They'd like life to be a TV sitcom where all problems are solved in 22 minutes. They want Ozzie & Harriet in a Hummer that pays no taxes and keeps them immigrants out. Is this what American women really want?
This ranks up there with the red scare of the 20's and the McCarthy dayso f the 50s as some of the most repressive this nation's ever faced. Here's hoping we're about to snap out of things. This regime is gonna make it very easy once we start really shining the light on all its lies and deceptions.

3. An article in the new Time magazine addresses something about |
|
these 'security moms'. They basically say it's "bullshit" because these women are the married, suburban moms who were in Bush's pocket to begin with. They say that some of the slide with women which now the Kerry camp has been addressing was on issues like healthcare and education, etc. They said terror wasn't really THE main issue for these women. Kerry had wasted a lot of time on VN war, Iraq and terror and it wasn't really ringing a lot of women's bells. Now the campaign has done things to correct that and it is expected women will slip back into the Kerry column. But, again, forgetabout this supposed "security moms" because they never were with Kerry to begin with.

5. Hughes Grubbies Are All Over This |

That lady gives me the creeps. Why does the image of her in leather with whips always appear when I see her???
Yep, "Security Moms" didn't become a term until around the convention when they must have seen the inpolling that showed moderate suburban women weren't as strong for Kerry as they were for Gore. These morons forget that with 7 different Democrats going after women's votes (wasn't that what "Joe-mentum" was about), it was gonna take a while for Kerry to consolidate the party...especially the women? Rove tried a free shot...created a wedge group that didn't exist. It's like the phony GMA...noise to distract and use as a political/propaganda tool.
When I heard that "lady" say she was voting for asshole cause she didn't feel safe going to the mall, I did a double-take. How self asorbed can someone be? Has it been worth the waste of over 1,000 American lives and countless others so you can feel safe going to Target? Damn, I wish these people would move to Montana and fence themselves off from the rest of us. (Sorry Montana, but there's way too many of them to fit comfortably in Idaho).

As a married, suburban Mom, I object to being in Bush's pocket. There's a lot of crap down here..wires, pills, crumpled up PDB's, Karen Hughes "honey do" list...and a bunch of stuff that just smells bad.

8. Thank You! Let's Kick & Get The Word Out |
|
A wonderful site and thank you for posting it. Why will it only be active for a day or two?
Women's issues have really been neglected in this campaign and the true security of women...economic, education, health, rights...haven't been worse since the "good old days" of the 50's and early 60's.
I just can't figure how some women can put the welfare of their own person and their immediate family over the greed and selfishness of this regime. Part of me thinks it's "battered-wife syndrome".
Again, thank-you and let us know how we can help with getting the word out!
