A great case for George W. Bush
The war in Iraq has made the danger of terrorism worse, not better.

For the cost of the war in Iraq, we could have made the United States far more secure than it is. Hired more police, more firefighters, more EMTs. Secured our ports, our bridges and dams, our power plants, our highways and rail lines. Inspected all containers, all air freight. Doubled the size of the Coast Guard, tripled the size of the Customs Service, hired more border guards, more school guards. Improved the physical security of our schools, our hospitals, our office buildings. None of that would have cost close to the $100-billion or more the war is going to end up costing us, yet all would have made us far more secure than we are.

And we're supposed to re-elect this clown WHY?

3. I was watching RFK on PBS last weekend ...
And the VietNam Neocons USED THE EXACT SAME SAYING !!!

I was flabbergasted at the deja vu of the entire situation.

2. Nitpick: The 100 billion the war will END UP costing us?
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 11:18 AM by gcomeau
The cost is already well over 100 billion.

5. Being conservative about the estimate
Makes my point even stronger, though.

Still, seriously, what is the case to reelect this guy?

6. Ummm...because he is staying the course?
Never mind that the course is littered with the bodies of 1000+ dead Americans, countless dead Iraqis, the disdain of most of the free world, and the husk of shrinking freedoms. Give me a semi on the interstate in Cleaveland during an ice storm any day. Much better, safer course to stay than the one Earpiece McWhistleass and his puppeteers has us on now.
