For those being optimistic
and/or downright sure-minded about the outcome of next month's vote, please take a moment to slow down and recognize the truth about the battle we are facing.

Do not be lulled by a false sense of security. We have to win by an amount greater than the "margin of theft" in order to get the POS and his cronies out of the White House.

There have been way too many posts about this or that poll that on any particular day show John Kerry leading or "closing the gap" or other similar positive trends. The fact that any poll shows a close result should be enough to cause you to worry. We cannot rest for a moment, thinking that things are "turning our way."

The other side is as determined as we are, maybe more so. If you have any doubt, just check out the freepers or any of the winger websites or blogs or media outlets. The hatred and fanaticism spewing from the GOPers should not be dismissed as the beliefs and actions of a few.

Free Republic, etc. ARE the republican party. To think that there are supporters of the regime who are simply "misguided" or "have not been exposed to the truth" is a sure path to defeat next month.

Those in the enemy camp will not change their minds. We must do everything we can to get our vote out. Do not waste time trying to convince "a freeper friend" or "my Bush-leaning uncle" to come to our side. They are lost causes and the time you spend arguing with them can be better spent on getting our supporters to the polls.

Stay focused.

Stay active.

Take no prisoners.

9. agreed..
It doesn't matter if your optimistic or pessimistic (that's up to you) all you have to agree to do is run like you are ten points behind until it's over. Then, once you've won, always behave like you are 20 points behind and you'll win re-election.

5. Well said.....
First, we are dealing with lying, conscienceless megalomaniacs and

two, since there are about 10 dull normals for every person in the

USA who actually THINKS...and that's being optimistic, three, never

forget the buzzer basket (of sorts) and the referreeing job that we

had shoved up our respective asses, what with Daddy George's buddys

looking out for "our" welfare.

Now, is the time to say, we won't take it again and we won't get

fooled again.

Not over til it's over, 15 January 2005 when a new President is inaugurated.

7. I'm a happy warrior
can't help it. I never stop engaging the opposition. Bush is not a god. He is weak and vulnerable. His whole campaign is an immature charade. I refuse to accept that he has run a smart campaign or has the ability to muster a majority of votes outside of some type of chicanery with the results. He's a loser and I believe that will be hanging around his neck before election day.

11. Do you help our team?
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 12:18 PM by sandnsea
Because if you're not helping our team, coordinating election day, giving rides to voters, baby-sitting, whatever needs to be done; you're not doing anything to truly win the election. That's where we are now and that's what needs to be done. It's not sexy, it's trench work, but that's how we win.

8. To better times ...
"To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone -- to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink -- greetings!"

- 1984, George Orwell

10. You're absolutely right
It's time to get out our vote and shore up anybody we convinced along the way. Anybody who is still a strong Bush supporter right now isn't worth our time. That's not hand-wringing, that's reality. Make sure everybody who wants to vote has an opportunity to get to the polls and vote, that's what's important now.

14. You are right about the "margin of theft".
That alone is scary enough to motivate anyone to redouble their efforts!
